The town is of historical interest and of stunning beauty.
To fully understand its history and to get a glimpse of underground olive oil presses I highly recommend booking a guided tour where you get to go below ground to discover how the oil was made.
You also get to discover the palace, the church and other places you wouldn’t discover without the tour.
Tours at 10am and 6pm + 7pm.
Ticket price : €5 per person
Written guides available on request.
Tour not suitable for wheelchair users.

interesting little village centre...some very old post mediaeval buildings with ornate entrances, plus the centre houses hypogea used for underground olive oil preparation. Worth popping in if you're close by.

Splendid historic center, well maintained and clean. I particularly recommend a visit during Christmas time when the lighting is very charming. This location has been chosen for a popular TV ad by Ferrero Rocher. I learned that guided tour are often setup on Sunday mornings, I will do my best to try and join one next winter.

I was lucky to be able to join one of the guided tours run by the Pro Loco. The guide was a volunteer giving up her Sunday morning to show us around. She was really friendly and enthusiastic, and of course she knew the best places to visit and had access to the underground olive presses.
During the week the guided tours take place in the late afternoon, and on Sunday mornings. The tour I did was in Italian. There is another volunteer who does the tours in English, but it's a good idea to phone the tourist office in advance.

Salve, Le consiglio di rivolgersi all'ufficio della ProLoco che è proprio all'ingresso del centro storico.
Se vuole le visite guidate sono disponibili alle 18.30, ma penso le conviene passare a prenotare o almeno telefonare.
