My husband and I recently had a 3-day private tour with Mattieu of the D-Day sites in Normandy and it was exceptional. He was passionate, knowledgable and patient with our many questions and curiosities. We saw all of the things we wanted to see plus many surprises we hadn't anticipated. We would highly recommend this group for private tours in small groups. We were beyond thrilled. Thank you Label West!

My family and I recently experienced an amazing few days visiting various D-Day sites in Normandy. Jenny Post (representing Label West Private Day Tours) was our travel guide. She was awesome and made the entire experience that much more memorable. She showed us multiple D-Day locations including some less known sites we specifically requested to visit. Jenny certainly knows and shares the historical events of the day. What we really appreciated were the many personal stories she shared of the men and women involved at each location. She and her husband have interviewed dozens of veterans. She shared their stories of joy, fear, love, life, and loss.
I admired Jenny’s personal reflection of those who served. She gave me hope that there are younger people who truly remember the sacrifice, honor, and heroism of those men and women who lived, served, and died during WWII.
We are already planning our next WWII memorial trip and hope to have Jenny as our guide.

Trip My France contracted with Label West as our driver guides for 5 days of our Loire Valley tour which included Chartres, Sancerre, Chambord, Cheverny, Amboise, Blois, Chateau de Blois, Shateau Chaumont, Chateau du Clos Luce, Chateu de Chenonceau, Touraine winery, Chateau Villandry and Chinon. We had Marine and Aurelie both very knowledgeable, pleasant and good drivers who put up with me and my teasing. Both were licensed guides who worked hard to the high standard they showed. Our group of 4 couldn't have been more pleased with the tours. Note: we were walking 2.5-4 miles a day which includes steps, lots of them in some of the chateaus. If you need a guide group, contact this company. Marine and Aurelie are located in Tours Fr while others are various sections of outer Provinces of France. The photos show Marine just showing us wineries but she did much more than that at Chartres and Chateaus. I think she would rather have been drinking with us but due to driving couldn't.

My wife and I spent two extraordinary days visiting Omaha and Utah Beaches, Point du Hoc, Longues sur Mer, Ste. Mere Eglise, the American Cemetery, and much much more with (on successive days) Jenny Post and her husband Florent Plana. Their blend of passion and expertise made for an in-depth yet highly personal experience that surpassed all of the many other guided tours we have enjoyed over the years. Recommended absolutely.

Not sure where to begin: scheduled this tour and even paid for an extra hour to ensure we were taken to and heard about all of the WWII sites; my instructions were explicit-a guide who was versed in all aspects of the sites. What we got was a driver for nine hours. At times we had to ask our "guide" what occurred at the the sites. Worse yet, she asked us "do you have any questions" to which we responded "well if you could tell us something about the area, perhaps we could ask some". I have contacted the tour office and their response was "your guide was sick that day". So for 510Euros we were driven around by a sick person. Here is my note to the CO:
Dear Anne-Cecile, we have just arrived home from our holiday in France. I am not sure where to begin about the tour we took with your company. After working with you to extend the day, my husband and I have never been more disappointed with any activity in which we ever participated, let alone spending more than 500 Euros. As I explained in my many emails to you, this was a very specially planned event for my husband, a former retired US military service member and for me, an expert in national security affairs. I would like to share with you many of the examples of what occurred during our day and I look forward to your explanation of how this is possibly worth the amount, time and effort we spent to ensure a special day in Normandy:
-Our tour person, Adele, was nice and friendly. We would like to state that up front. This isn’t a criticism of her personally, it’s about what wasn’t provided that most assuredly should have been included in our Normandy WWII tour.
-Throughout the day, we REPEATEDLY had to ask about where we were, special events that made each of the locations part of 1947 while we were driving from point to point. Moreover, several times at least 10-15 minutes would pass without our guide speaking at all.
-It seems she had no in depth knowledge of the sites. Instead of narrating the details, she was regurgitating what was on the plaques and the story boards at the museums we visited. My husband commented several times that as we walked past many other tour groups, it was clearly apparent from their stories and the amount of historical information they were relaying, our guide was not as informed.
-Our guide often asked us if we had any questions; after the third or so time, I finally said, "We would have questions but since you are not conveying and history about where we are we don't know what to ask. Could you please provide some of the history of where we are and the events that unfolded in these locations?"
-We heard more about the beach erosion due to all of the damage caused by ammunition than we did about the actual events that took place at the beaches; climate change was not a part of this tour; learning about D-DAY was.
As world travelers who have visited many historical sites throughout the globe, we expected a running narrative about the sites we are visiting; that’s why we pay for a travel guide. Sadly, we had a car service. This was an extremely disappointing experience.

Unfortunately, our tour of Pays d'Auge and Honfleur was disapointing. We were a group of eight requesting an approximate 5 hour tour and were pleasantly surprised when Irene e-mailed me shortly before our cruise to say we would be picked up at 9:00 and brought back to the ship between 2:30 and 3:00. However, when Anne-Cecile met us at the pier she said she would have to have us back at 2:00 because she had another tour. Anne was more of a driver than a guide. She spoke decent English and was very pleasant but with a small voice and no microphone the couple sitting in the back could hardly hear her. She answered our questions but offered little commentary along the way, except to comment on the new bridge we took. Our first stop was to a small village Beuvron en Auge and the town was just waking up so only a few shops were open. She left us to wander around for about 20 minutes and then asked us if we wanted to go to a Calvados tasting. Believing that she had her time schedule worked out we said okay only to learn after wasting almost two hours at the Calvados winery, that we would have only one hour in Honfleur. We were all very upset about this turn of events. Had we known our time in Honfleur would be cut short we would not have opted to go to the Calvados winery. Anne literally dropped us off in the middle of Honfleur telling us she'd pick us up at the same spot in an hour. So much for a guided tour!! She got a very dissatisfied group back to the ship in 25 minutes in time to pick up her next tour.
I cannot in good conscience recommend this company.

The highlight of our recent trip to Normandy was spending the day exploring the area with Label West's Diane Boutier. Diane picked us up at our hotel in Bayeaux and did a fabulous job showing us the D-Day sites and offering informative commentary on what we were seeing. Both my husband and my teenage son appreciated her in-depth knowledge of the area and events of 70 years ago.
Diane gave us a full day experience; she carefully guided us through the museums and made sure we saw the most interesting exhibits and films. It was wonderful to sit back and let Diane do the driving and we were amazed at how much we were able to see in one day. Highly recommend!

Always preferring private tours to ship's excursions, we were lucky to have had Diane as our tour guide from Label West. She was knowledgeable, accommodating, resourceful, and extremely pleasant and personable. As she is an ex pat, we obviously had no difficulty understanding her English! Being in Normandy was very moving, especially since we were there a few weeks before the 70th anniversary of the landing. We were supposed to visit Honfleur after we visited the D-Day sites but, unfortunately for us, it started to pour so we headed back to the ship. The cost of the tour was reasonable for our party of 6 also. I can recommend without hesitation.

Sophie picked us up at the cruise ship terminal in Le Havre. She was punctual and friendly. However, she did not use our time wisely. We had 8 hours for our tour - 4 of which were unavoidably driving.
Our tour time found us spending far too much time meandering thru quaint villages and ending up not having enough time at the beaches and artificial harbor. Her explanation of events wasn't complete and she relied on photos a great deal.

Hello, I am looking for a private tour to Normandy, for May 7th, 2017. Do you pick up from cruise ships? We are a party of four adults. Can you please give me an idea of how much it would cost? Thank you!
