We had great 2 days with Alberto in very exclusive tours to Chianti and Montalcino. Alberto is a wine expert, knows every winery and producer in Tuscany and always surprises you with very exclusive producers and wines. He is great at explaining the details of the region such as soil characteristics, differences between regions and producers. He also share his deep knowledge on each wine we tasted!! Absolutely fantastic experience!

We had an excellent time on our wine tour with Alberto. We had originally booked a bike tour, but unfortunately heavy rains made the trails impassable. Alberto quickly suggested a different itinerary by car and we could not have been happier. He picked us up in his comfortably sized car at our hotel in Cortona and we visited two very different wineries (Villa Santa Anna & Lueta -- both of which we really enjoyed). His knowledge of the wine and the area made this a very educational day and we felt right at home with the winemakers. He also had planned a lunch at a restaurant in beautiful Montepulciano which was outstanding. He treated us as friends rather than customers. Our first shipment of wine just arrived and we will be toasting to Alberto and this incredible experience.

Our group of four cousins and spouses had looked forward to this trip for two years. Getting set up with Alberto was a blessing. He came in a suitable van to pick us up at the rented villa at Villa La Guardata at the appointed hour and off we went. The first stop was the Fanti Vineyard where were shown the total operation involving the cooling and then fermentation of freshly picked grapes, wine making process and the underground cellars. The finale, after the cellar tour was a meal featuring six different wines and six courses. Best chicken skin ever! After Fanti, Alberto had arranged for us to visit the Mate Winery, home of Ferenc Mate, the author of "A Vineyard in Tuscany". It is small but wonderfully private. They were very busy with the recent harvest but Dr Mate made himself available for conversations and he autographed the copy of the book I had brought with me.

We booked the bike ride/winery tour Pietraia for our visit to Tuscany in September, and were really looking forward to it. A couple days before the tour (while we were travelling in other areas of Italy), Alberto emailed me to request the address of where we would be staying. I didn't see the message right away, and he emailed again to let me know that the tour would be cancelled if I didn't provide the information. As I booked the tour and emailed him the address in June (to confirm that we would be picked up for the tour - to which I received no response), I didn't realize that our tour was in such danger. We were very frustrated, as this was to be the highlight of our stay in Tuscany. Fortunately, we had a rental car, and were emailed GPS coordinates for the meeting place where we would start the bike tour. Unfortunately, the coordinates led us to a farm (private property). Alberto was very accommodating in directing us to the correct location after we were able to call him, and our bike ride with Lorenzo of Fitness Tuscany was wonderful. The country side was beautiful and our route wasn't overly-challenging. We had so much fun! The Baldetti winery tour was also fabulous, and we had a lovely experience overall. The staff at Baldetti were very knowledgeable and friendly, and learning about the wine-making process made drinking it even more rewarding. Other than the threat to cancel our tour and being sent to the wrong start location, we would highly recommend.

A large group of friends met in Poppi for an enjoyable week at Agriturismo Vecchia Queria during the 1st week in July. I wanted to plan a day of wine tasting and touring where no one had to drive. In early May, I reached out to a private tour company who quoted me a price for transportation and told me I would pay the wineries for the tour and tasting. 4 days later, they said they could not provide transportation, but would book the wineries for us. That defeated my entire intention of not driving. I was not happy, and slightly panicked as I promised all my friends that I would book the winte tour. Searching the internet, I luckily found Alberto and his Cortona Wine Tours. Alberto took care of everything. I felt bad, but because of my experience with the first tour company, I kept checking with Alberto to ensure all was good. He kept telling me not to worry, and he was correct. Alberto and his very nice driver showed up at the villa in a modern bus with very comfortable seats and nice air conditioning. Our first stop was at Villa St. Anna outside of Montepulciano. It was a fantastic tour and the wine tasting was paired with a terrific lunch. Amazing experience at the "women's winery!" Highly recommended! Our second stop was at Azienda Agricola Leuta. We had a wonderful time with Jennifer and tasting all the lovely wines. We are still working on understanding the "device proportion," but still had a great time tasting and enjoying the wine. Thank you Alberto. The day spent with you was perfect and everyone in our group had a magnificent time. I'm glad we are in contact on Facebook. I'm so sorry to have read your recent post about your beautiful dog moving onto heaven. We are all dog people and share your pain. Be well Alberto.
