Tenuta San Guido winey is one of historical most important in development of modern Tuscany wine story.

I tasted before all of their wines. I also tested a few of previous vintages of Sassicaia. The last was 2015, which was exceptional. On the tour I had a privilege to test also 2016 vintage, which was just released in the market. I must say that for me, this is the best vintage that I had a chance to taste.

Overall with a high quality wines come also really high prices. Prices of premium Tuscany wines are still growing. Maybe it is better to look at this as a opportunity for investment than to ask yourself what is going on. :)

Very beautiful place, very nice to drive here threw the pines. The winery is a beatiful old Tuscan etate. First of all you need pay attention here on wine. Wine here is really high quality and selevted. Try Sassicaia - this is something special.

As a family of 7 adults and 6 kids we had a wonderful lunch. The food was fantastic and beautifully presented. The staff could not have been more helpful. Thank you so much for a lovely afternoon.

Full of expectations we travelled to this estate to have the cellar-tour and to taste the wines. The estate charged ‘Consorzio la Strada del Vino Costa degli Etruschi’ to host people for the visit and the tasting at the Sassicaia cellar. The cost is € 40. Although it was said a maximum of 15 people would attend the tour, we counted at least 20. The start of the tour was messy, it wasn’t clear where we had to be and we all had to wait for a while. Upon arrival at the estate, we had to wait again, since a private tasting was still ongoing. When the tour started, only a short explanation was provided and the guide didn’t seem well informed regarding the vineyards and the wines. We could see the cellar, but nothing else of the estate was shown. The cellar is just a standard cellar and is - in itself - not impressive. Three wines were given, Guidalberto, Le Difese and Sassicaia 2010. They were all given in the same glass, something you wouldn’t expect for at least Sassicaia. Water was not available. After the tasting, the tour just ended without any further remarks. After having participated in around 10 tastings in Piemonte and Tuscany, my opinion is that there are far better tasting opportunities and tours than this one (see also one of my other reviews). It is quite remarkable that this famous estate (the first 'SuperTuscan') has such a low quality – Sassicaia unworthy - tour and tasting.

We visited the winery and restaurant with another couple of families. We were told within minutes of arriving to be quite, when I asked why, as we were seated outside away from other patrons, a staff member told us that she was pregnant and wanted her rest!
The staff inside the winery were utterly disinterested in helping us, the food consisted of platters of over cooked pasta and a wild boar stew that was so tough it could hardly be chewed.
The winery has a good name because it does make some nice wine but go elsewhere if you do not wanted to be treated poorly.

We dined at Tenuta San Guido as part of an Arblaster and Clarke wine tour of Tuscany. It was a wonderful meal in a warm, comfortable room. The first course of Beef Tartare was delicious and in many ways the highlight. It was followed by a splendid wild boar ragu pasta and then beef fillet. A meat lover's delight. We also fortunate enough to taste the 2014 sassicaia. In every respect, a memorable evening.
