    Superb beach
So we are naturists and had read about Cala Mesquida beach in other reviews. The beach is a jewel in the Crown. Superb white sand, slow shelving beach and maintained. At the main entrance to the beach area a lot of beach umbrellas and beds for hire and with the added security of beach guards making sure everyone stays safe. The naturist area is at the far end if the beach away from the main entrance and is around 200-300m to walk to. First day we walked on sand but because so soft it was unbelievable hard and exhausting. There's a boardwalk which was officially closed but could still be accessed to the rear of the beach. Much easier to get to naturist area and although closed sign at entrance it was safe to walk on and the easier way to get to naturist area.

    Beautiful beach for swimming
The beach is beautiful. Very clear water and the bay with surrounding green hillsides are lovely. Not many fish if you like snorkelling but great gradual shoreline for little children. Bins available, no other amenities that I noticed so definitely take what you need for a lovely time on the beach. We parked nearby up the top, steps down so could be tricky for those that struggle with stairs.

    Our favorite beach the area
Get there early because parking, and the beach fill up quickly, even in June. We found free parking in a lot in the village. There is also some free parking on some of the streets. This is a large beach with very nice, fine sand. The are several places where you can rent chairs and umbrellas. The sand dunes provide a picturesque backdrop. There is a snack bar where you can purchase drinks and food. It is cash only. There is also a vendor who sells fresh melons and bananas, also cash only.

Beware of the guy renting out the sunbeds! He will try to rip you off when different family members are using the beds.
We arrived as a family of seven and rented only two sunbeds and an umbrella, since we brought three of our own umbrellas.
When I returned from parking the car and started using one of the beds, the guy insisted that the beds are not transferable since another family member bought the ticket!
I had to walk to the hut where his boss was sitting and make a scene in order to get the refund. They did not even accept arguments in English and acted as they did not understand suddenly. They sure did and, fortunately, I could use my rusty Castellano and create a scene just enough to stop this madness.
It seems that their business did not suffer enough during the last two years that they try these kind of old-school tricks on their customers in the first year after the opening. A really strange way to welcome your first-time customers.

So far this beach experience has been the worst on this island and we will not come here another day.
The smaller beaches in the south of the island are much more friendly and I have no idea how this beach can win any award with that attitude.

We drove an hour to get here, the plan was to check it out with a view to getting up early another day and making it our base for a day. So we arrived at 5pm.
The parking was still a nightmare and the beach was still rammed. The only loos were in the restaurant and there were only two (female) cubicles which were very dirty.
There’s a shack on the beach which had run out of several ice creams (choice was v limited) and had about 4 plastic chairs that were already occupied anyway. With such a lack of facilities you can imagine where everyone is going so we didn’t fancy a dip in the sea! Definitely not our cup of tea but can see why some people would like it as the beach is beautiful

Beautiful beach. Sunbeds and umbrellas available however there is also plenty space to put blankets/towels down which we did.
Water was crystal clear, waves quite large so keep an eye on the kids.
Beach hut served ice cream, drinks and food at a reasonable price.
Just a beautiful beach in a beautiful location, was very clean when we visited also.

The beach is beautiful, with clear water and gorgeous sand.
Sunbeds available (2 sunbeds and an umbrella for €16.50 in October 2022).
Hut with snack and drinks available at a decent price.

4/5 starts because the debris washed ashore is not cleared.

Parked above the beach in a free car park and walked down some steps for access. Not overly busy (end Sept), the sea was quite rough we visited but plenty of people in swimming and the water was warm. One of the best beaches we visited on the island

Beach itself is beautiful - water stunning and easy access/parking.

Lots of hotels and conveniences and therefore wonderful environment for families and kids. Lots of fun and activity there. Highly recommend for families.

We visited for 30mins. Had a nice swim and then left to head to Cala Torta which was very nice.

Large sandy beach with sunbeds and shades available. Nudist section at far end. Lovely restaurant on the beach. Great walks along the coast.

When one waits 50+ years between visits one wonders about the memories ...... , I first visited Cala Mesquida in 1965 and again in 1966 and the memories are still vivid , so ok the accommodation has changed but the beautiful landscape has not nor ever will the wonderful beach and the loverly sand dunes the walks across the rocks at the far end of the beach stretching up into the mountains , yes Cala Mesquida was a place of dreams and will always remain so .
A small part of the gorgeous island of Mallorca that is a must for the off season tourist looking for the romantic and near idyllic location of perfection .
