The only reason this is two stars and not zero is because the apple pie was nice. The staff member who served us was rude and told us she would call out when our drinks were ready. She never did and by the time we asked what was happening and we got them, they were lukewarm. No apology. Won't be back, not even for the pie.

We visited in order to give some business to the beleaguered communities in the Blue Mountains affected by the recent bush fires. We needn’t have bothered though as it is seemed that hundreds of other people had the same idea, and we took just about the last parking space, in a very large car park !

The Fruit Bowl simply did not have enough staff to cope with the huge demand. We queued for nearly 30 minutes to place our order.

Mrs FB2000 did comment that her apple slice dessert was extremely tasty although the base was too hard for the plastic fork provided, so she ended up simply using her hands !

The large Apple Pies smelt very tempting, and one of our group bought two !

Our coffees were fine.

We came to visit and purchase produce from the area.
Great range of fruit and vegetables; honey and other garden produce.
Made me recall many visits in the past.
Great to see this place again.
Good to breathe the crisp mountain air.

As Pine Crest up the road was closed, we decided to try Fruit Bowl to pick your own fruit. We always avoided this place as we heard it was hugely expensive. As we soon discovered, this was very accurate.
As options were limited we to "pick your own" at our usual orchard, we gave Fruit Bowl a go.
Prices to enter are $20 Adults and $10 Children plus the cost of the fruit picked which was quite steep also. I also asked what happens if there is little fruit to pick? The reponse from the clearly irrated representative in the office was 'Oh well, whatever is there, it's your choice". I asked would there be a refund if there's no fruit? to which he replied "NO, you might also eat some while in there". It would have cost us $80 just to get in. Just crazy price gouging.
While pondering wherever to actually pay up, another rather large family arrived and immediately handed over $130 just to enter. $130, let that sink in, just to enter an orchard. That is just absolute highway robbery. Just paying up for the experience, but this is just wrong. If people keep paying up, they will keep charging it.
We will always drive right by this place as we had previously done.

The fruit does not get any fresher than picking it straight off the tree. While the quality of the fruit is very high and the taste is of real fruit it is a bit of an ask to pay for the privilege of picking the fruit as well as for the fruit itself. That said it’s great to be able to directly support the growers in a local district in these trying times and you can see the support is appreciated.

We stopped at the place during our bus tour that included a visit to Featherdale Wildlife Park, The Bilpin Fruit Bowl, Mt.Tomah Botanical Gardens and Scenic World.

Regarding the place itself: the Apple
Pie they sell is simply amazing. I don’t bake so I have always bought apple pies from stores. After eating this apple pie, there’s simply no going back to the store pies. It’s amazing. The place also sells olive oils, jams, and some sort of apple cider vinegar and honey tonic that’s supposed to help with sleep, muscle pains etc. I have been taking it for about a month now (one spoon with a glass of water once a day), to say that I have become the healthiest person ever, no, I won’t say that yet. But the taste is very refreshing in the morning. I like it.

Now, if you are not on a bus tour that makes a stop at this store, honestly I won’t bother driving all the way from Sydney. Simply because it’s not close and no point of loosing so much time if you are just a tourist. But the apple pie is good .

I had the pleasure of stopping at The Fruit Bowl recently while on vacation in the Blue Mountains. When in the mountains I always allocate at least an hour for my visit.

I was pleased to see how the place was recovering from the January 2020 Bushfires and operating well despite the active Covid restrictions in place.

The grounds were well maintained and great for a stretch of the legs and sample of the fresh mountain air. The shop was well stocked with locally grown fruit produce, specifically apples and an assortment of other edible treats including freshly baked apple pies. There was however a limited range of souvenir items for sale in the shop. I believe the range could be explanded to replicate the range of craft items sold there in previous years when I have visited. The cafÄ— was operational and providing refreshments of excellent quality. As usual the staff were all friendly and polite.

I thoroughly recommend that you stop and take the time to explore The Bilpin Fruit Bowl on your next visit to the Blue Mountains region and perhaps you too will become a regular visitor like me!

Lots of people out to support the locals. Old establishment, plenty of local produce and refreshments... nice coffees and teas and a lovely apple pie. Great back area to sit and a place for kids and dogs to run.
Like most places up there, could do with a tidy up and refurb but money would be tight after the devastating fires.
I wish them well

We stopped for lunch today on our way to Mudgee. We stood at the counter for 5 minutes while a gentleman made coffee and chatted to a customer. Another employee came in and out from behind the counter several times, joining in with the conversation. There was no acknowledgement of our presence, so we left without ordering anything and walked across the road to Mountain Bells Cafe where we had a very nice lunch. Very poor service from The Bilpin Fruit Bowl!

We went there the first day of apple picking for this summer season. Apple picking starts at 10, we were there 10:30 and parking was still OK. Apples and peaches are delicious. Overall I thought it was well-managed - direction, COVID check-in, cashless payments. Also bought delicious apple pie, jam, and juice to take home.
