Be wary of parking in this area - it's council seems bent on just making money with parking

There is no where to park where there is no metered parking along the coast unlike other states. What's worse is that they barely have any signage. So even if you park on an area without any signs they fine you $116 and it seems like they discriminate and fine those who are not locals.

Teenage paradise
Mar 2021
The place is for teenage delinquency in full bloom. Filthy, lots of cigarette butts. Windy, not a calm place to enjoy.

on the Barrenjoey peninsula lies Palm Beach, the most northern beach in Sydney's northern beaches-one of the best beaches in Sydney (the world!)-we live nearby and go weekly but never get tired of its beauty...

Had a lazy couple of hours at Palm Beach with the daughter - a delightful destination ... just a pity the parking is soooo expensive.

Beautiful beach and 'Beautiful people'
Jul 2020
Palm Beach has long been the summer playground of Sydney's A-listers. You only have to look around at the eye-watering prices of local real estate to identify that. The Palm Beach surf club - normally a symbol of Aussie egalitarianism - could even pass for a Hollywood mansion. Anyway, I guess it just proves the old-money set know a good thing when they see it. Palm Beach is a truly beautiful beach, a long stretch of golden sand parked between two massive headlands, with sparkling water and very good conditions for surfing/swimming - more so at the more protected southern end. There is also a picturesque rock pool at the base of the southern headland.
Nowadays Palm Beach is not just the preserve of the rich and famous - you may even catch a bus here - the 199 from Manly. It has been well and truly discovered by the hoi polloi, and it can get very busy on summer weekends. Once you're there you can easily spend a whole day - there is a lot to do including climbing up to the Barrenjoey lighthouse. Make sure you bring your money - public parking is outrageously expensive, as can be feeding the family in one of the small number of local cafes (forgetting all about PB's impressive line-up of flash restaurants).

Palm beach has it all
Feb 2020
Well worth the trip up the northern beaches peninsular along the winding road from Newport ( the road can be busy and slow on peak beach days)
The beach itself is long and pretty, with a surf pool at the southern end. There are good facilities to change and have a rinse down after a swim
If the surf is too rough, there is always the calmer waters of Pitwater on the western side of the peninsular to have a dip.

The views up to the northern end take in the spectacular hilltop that houses the Barrenjoey lighthouse.
Lots of good places to eat, grab a coffee or a cool drink
Parking is fairly generous size wise but like most beachside suburbs, there is a charge by the hour

Pretty place

A quiet day when we visited but I could imagine how busy it could become. Parking available starting at $8:00 an hr so not cheap unless there is a group of you. The sand was gritty....not the fine sand found on other beaches but the beach nonetheless is beautiful. The ferry seems to be quite a walk from the beach. Stunning views of Pittwater.

Great view

Loved this beach. Sand is a tad coarse but the beach is stunning and it has a small rock pool but unfortunately it was full of seaweed

Awesome Place to be with friends and for couples!

Great place to hangout with freinds. This place is about hour away from Sydney. Ample parking space and also very good track to the lighthouse. We have been here couple of times and the weather over here keeps on changing. Sometimes its windy sometimes its not and same goes for the humidity, so always check weather and choose your cloths accordingly. Beach is beautiful and less crowded. There are couple of parks surrounding it with tables where you can have your picnic. Park your car at very end of the beach if you are not into walking. Its one of the best places you can visit from Sydney.

Great South End
Jan 2020
If you go to the south end of the beach there are safer waves and the flags are up. If you want to get a feel for it then watch the movie Palm Beach with Bryan Brown in it. One of Sydney best.
