Den Hartogh is was a Ford car dealer anda large transport company. They collected Ford cars and show now tha largest collection of old Ford cars and trucks worldwide. Most of the vehicles shown are still ready to operate.
There are cars, ambulances, a campervan from the thirties, fire fighter trucks, tankers, a popcorn car etc etc etc.
There is also a big motorcycle collection to see.
For me this museum is an absolute must visit.

Our visit to den Hartogh Ford Museum was a memorable one giving me a new appreciation for the fine cars Ford produced and why I’ve made them my hobby. Should you find yourself near Amsterdam it would be a great investment of half a day to see the museum, otherwise you can get a great virtual tour on the internet at the museum’s website and through photos posted elsewhere on the web by those that have paid a visit

After viewing all those beautiful cars we enjoyed a nice hot chocolate at the restaurant, where also lunch is available.

If you are a ford fanatic this is the place to visit. It has more cars than the ford museum in the USA i'm told. You can even buy a car or two from them if you have the cash. Each car has a plate which tells you a bit about the car

Nice Village, son and I went to the attached Grand Cafe to have drink and snack and then the the Museum. We went in, service was OK but we were asked to pay our bill there and then, when no one else was asked to ! Why, because we were talking English and the male behnind the counter insisted the waitress ask us to pay! The Dutch were OK to even sit outside and pay later. I did not realise that I was that untrustworthy given the British have been so supportive of the Dutch! Then on having paid a drama at the till took place, the same Male (not gentleman!) challenged the waitress on what were charged, he was clearly a supervisor and was concerned were were charged too little, no apologies or explanation. I paid and we left. NEVER to Return or ENTER the Museum, I have rated as POOR because I will not give them my custom or that of our frequent family visitors.

This is a place that breathes Ford, from the early days of the Ford brand, until today. This museum shows many different oldies, including a few that run on wood, instead of petrol or diesel. The collectibles were dated from 1903 till 1948.
It is a real pity the museum closed.
It was a must-see for historians and car lovers.

I don't know much about cars but found the museum very interesting. I was visiting my sister in Hillegom and cycled to the museum just 5 mins away. Would probably only visit here once. My husband is car mad and would definitely go back. For historians and car lovers - this is a must see

I came here for a special event organised by friends. We spent a few hours on a puzzle tour special for us. Many cars and not many people. I was impressed by the good state of the cars and the variety in models and versions.

Still on our bike trip through the area...after catching the start of the Tulip padre, we rode our bikes from the beach to the museum. It was the longest ride of our trip and this stop was supposed to be a short pit stop about halfway. It turned into much much more!

The museum is a bit unassuming from the outside - in fact, it looked rather small. I was not sure this would be worth the stop after all. I was more than surprised. First, we had a small, simple lunch in the cafe. The crumpets were actually pretty amazing. I'm not sure what the difference is between crumpets from the south Netherlands, but every time we had crumpets on this trip they seemed better than the last. And I was very surprised that they were so good at the museum.

The waitress took time to talk to us, it was very quiet and she was helpful and eager and she shared with us that the tulip parade would actually be stopping at the museum and floats going on display! What an unexpected surprise! We ended up staying after touring the museum to catch the parade a second time. What a long parade by the way - it started at 0930 and we left the parade half way through it at the end and it was 1800! We had to leave in order to get to our next hotel still a 90 minute bike ride away.

Back to the museum - when we went inside, I was at first a little disappointed. It was just a few rows of cars on display. But I made the best of it and took some pictures and walked the rows of cars and then....I saw a large doorway. Through the door was another large room filled with more cars and through that room another room with Ford trucks - fire trucks, ambulances, delivery trucks (even one from "Capone's Delivery Service, Chicago, Illinois :) lol ) a popcorn track and a tow truck. Between the rooms, a video playing non-stop on the history of Ford...did you know that the Ford company was at one time the leading producer of movies??? Even more prolific than Hollywood at one point. A display of motorcycles, race cars and a garage filled the rest of this short hallway.

The sheer size of the place was shocking and surprising. The condition of the cars was unexpected so far outside of Detroit and the United States. If you like cars and history - this is a must stop point. I loved our time here....
