Coming here, it is interesting to witness the pilgrims going about their prayers. The site is expansive enough with many side temples and they are beautiful decorated with gorgeous Thangka paintings. There is also a lovely kora walk surrounding the complex which is good if you fancy a nice hilly stroll with a peaceful vibe!

This was a fascinating place. The monks are very generous to open their private studies and prayers to the public. It was very peaceful and beautiful. The monks debate each other outside in the courtyard and that was exciting to watch. This is a simple, sacred space.

The main temple and lodging of the Dalai Lama.
The place is inviting, quite big, well protected from the rain (which is very important in Dharamshala).
The mood is spiritual and hospitable.
Take a guide - there is a lot to learn and understand other than just looking.

Its situated at the extreme of the McLeodganj market and is the seat of his holiness Dalai Lama and the capital of the Tibetan government in exile. The main building enshrines gilded idols of lord buddha , god bhairav and goddess tara. In front of Buddha's bust there is the throne of Dalai Lama there is an adjoining hall that has seating capacity of up to 200 people . Overall a nice place but won't take more than an hour to tour

As you enter in the main temple you feel divine vibes. It’s full of positive energy. As we reached monks were performing some prayers and chanting mantra which made our experience more religious. No matter to which religion you belong this temple will give cool and calm feelings of divinity. The golden statue of Lord Buddha seems alive, it gives very very deep pleasure as you see his divine smile. There is a statue of fasting Buddha, which also very impressive. It’s must visit place

As per my understanding the monastery does not have rooms for tourists to stay. You can check hotels in the city for your stay. Thanks!

How did you get to take the photo when cameras and mobile are not allowed inside?

Dip Tse Chock Ling monastery is not the main temple complex with Tsuglakhang and Kalachakra temple (i.e. where the Dalai Lama resides) where photography is not permitted. Photography is allowed within the Dip Tse Chok Ling monastery and even inside the actual temple itself.

Most of you do not comment Tse Chok Ling goma, you comment the main temple complex with Tsuglakhang and Kalachakra temple.
Tse Chok Ling gompa is NOT the residence of HH Dalai Lama, it is a small gompa in the forest of Mc Leod Ganj
