Interesting and picturesque sight with an ocean view opposite the strata. 5.7 km from Motomachi so a bit of a hike on foot, but easily reachable by local bus, bike, or car. Worth making a stop for.

We just drove by on the bus and could see it very good. If time allowed , I’d stop for a short hike.

It's along the main road in oshima island, close to the black beach. Nothing exceptional but worth a brief stop while passing through the area.

Exposed geological layers on the roadside. Easily seen as you pass by on the eastern side of the island. Small parking bay to get out and have a look, beware of traffic. No facilities at the site. Spend 10-15 minutes here.

There is no real information to go with this formation. Each layer is created by each eruption of Mt Mihara, add some erosion and these are the layers you end up with. If you are in the neighbourhood it's worthwhile stopping for a look, costs nothing.
