My partner booked this tour with Javier for 3 of us for 2 days staying overnight. We were picked up from our hostel and left on the boat. Within minutes of being on the boat we say dolphins swim alongside us as well as flying fish. It was incredible with the skipper stopping to let us enjoy. Once we got to the first snorkel spot we were blown away by how beautiful it was- white sand beaches and crystal clear water. Javier had also arranged our interary so that we beat the large groups and had the spots to ourselves! That first dive we saw turtles, sharks, all manner of beautiful and colourful fish etc. And under Javiers advise we all sunscreened and covered up- none of us burnt! Our lunch and dinner were delicious, our overnight stay was also lovely with a beautiful sun set. On our hike we were shown lots of beautiful exotic birds- admittedly not bird watchers ourselves we still really enjoyed it with Javiers deep knowledge and enthusiasm! I can honestly say that this tour was among the highlights of my trip in Central America and well worth it. Thanks so much Javier! Alex, Gregor & Ben

We booked overnight tour for our dreamed Coiba visit. Owner informed us a day before that he won't be at place, but everything is prepared and fixed. It wasn't. We were driven by unpleasant and non-speaking English (he even didn't try to be nice and speak Spanish!) skipper, with no guide, almost no food, no life vests. There was not Coiba tour, just a snorkelling on four different spots! We expected to have bird watching, hiking, to see the wildlife. We were left on our own with no guide. Finally we were left in the wrong camp for the night where we had to pay for the meals (and we paid for them before to the Bird Coiba!) Second day we were promised to be taken to Coiba to see the birds, parrots etc. but the captain told us that he has a fuel only to come back to Catalina. So we returned there. In fact there was no overnight trip, just one day in the water. We asked Javier Elizondo for money return, we received the partial return, which was OK, but still disappointment you can feel. We changed our travel plans to go to Coiba for two full days, it meant to be our best point during our holiday, but we returned confused.

We booked a last minute day tour with Bird Coiba to see macaws. Javiar could not go, so we went with one of his guys, Rueben, and his brother and cousin. We knew they didn't speak English, but we got by on our little Spanish. We met at about 8am at the beach and Javiar made sure we were all set to go. He was also there to greet us when we arrived back in town. We brought a picnic lunch and some snacks and drinks as well. What a thrill it was to see the macaws in the wild! After going up river to do that, we snorkeled around Granita de Oro and another spot. Rueben and the boys were awesome at spotting the macaws and things to see while snorkeling. Since they are locals, they have a keen eye for what to look for. The only down side is the long ride out to Coiba and back (can't be helped). Staying out there for a night or 2 would help break up the long ride. Next time, I want to spend the night at Coiba and spend more time birding with Javiar. Thanks for a fun day!

Javier is the best guide in the area. He knows the best spots for birds, snorkeling and nature. We stayed overnight in Coiba island. It is rustic but has the basic needs. All meals are provided including a great dinner with wine and beer and great food. We saw all the birds that we had hoped to see plus more. Howler and White Faced monkeys, deer and rare turtles. Javier's two assistants Reuben and Melvin were a great help throughout the trip. I let Javier know my wife has back problems and Reuben made a great effort to keep the ride smooth despite rough seas. Thank you for giving a most memorable trip.

We went on a tour with bird coiba to go snorkeling and some hiking. Javier informed us that his guys do not speak English very well. Still they did not speak English at all and their attitude was far from communicative. If you want to go snorkeling take a local tour. There you will be around 10 people and you will see the same spots. Is very fine as well. I do not see the benefit for a snorkeling tour with bird coiba. Javier's price is around 3-times compared to a normal tour. He never proposed us to go with a normal tour of we want to save money when we were asking for cheaper options.
