Had a great day out to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary! Felt a bit nervous on the way out as we hadn't dived for 2 years, and then that was just doing our PADI course, but our instructor Julie made us feel very safe. I think the kids were a bit nervous too, pretty grown up to be left going snorkeling with a spanish only speaking instructor while their parents were off somewhere deep down below. Above the water we saw a mantaray doing a flip, a bottlenose dolphin came and swam right next to the boat! While Ed and I were still 50ft down, the kids also saw a huge whale shark right next to the boat - I think I might have had kittens of that had swim past us... Certainly the many sizeable white tip reef sharks we saw were enough for me! Saw zillions of fish, boxfish, pufferfish, moray eels, a turtle, huge purple starfish and some pretty colourful coral. Went down to 60ft which was otherworldly, quiet and felt like a good sort of distance from the kids to celebrate 10 years of marriage. Really recommend using Coiba Dive Center, very responsible, trustworthy, knowledgeable and friendly. And Orlando did great snorkeling with the kids!

Diving Coiba is incredible experience! Coiba Dive Center was the right shop for our group of 4 divers. The night we arrived in town, we checked in with Julie (owner) and had a conversation about what to expect in the next 3 days/2 nights. She answered all questions. We felt that the people working for the shop were professional. Our boat Capitan, Armando and the deck crew, Euris were incredibly helpful and very good at their jobs. Rosie was a great cook and the food was good and filling! Diving with Julie was such a fun experience because, even though she has been doing this for many years, she is just as enthusiastic about what we got to see as we were. She did the underwater dance with us when we spotted our first whale shark and came up from every dive smiling! You know this is so much more than a job for her, it is her passion!

Best dive center in Santa Catalina! Professional dive instructors (thanks Shaun for all the fun!), friendly staf, proper dive gear! Sharks garanteed 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰. Went for one day diving, stayed for many more. Not just diving, time for a chat, lunch at deserted beaches, time for logbooks and always in for a sunset drinks to celebrate the beautiful dives 😎. Can’t wait to come back and meet again the whale sharks, bull shark, hundreds of white tip reef sharks, manta’s, dolfins and go on ☺️!

So here’s the deal.....my husband, who I am writing this review for expressed extreme satisfaction for the Coiba Dive Center. Aside from the fact it was his first time diving in Panama it was also his first time diving with the staff from Coiba Dive Center. Julie and Glenn are the owners/operators of the Coiba Dive Center and have been making memories for divers from all over the world for over 13 years. When you arrive ask specifically for Julie, Glenn and/or Shaun. These folks are very sensitive to your level of experience and attentive to your individual needs. They also provide absolutely everything you will need for the day from food to wetsuit. So bring your dive log book, a strong desire to see whale sharks and every other fish in the sea and plan on a very worthwhile experience. At the end of the day Shaun, one of the very experienced dive instructors will join you at the beach to watch the sunset and discuss the day’s finds.
