Worst castle I have stayed in. It didn’t have a roof or toilet...disgrace. The guy on reception was no where to be seen. Poor service.

Unfortunately unable to actually get to the castle as we had to walk through a field of cows, and as we had a dog we didn't think it appropriate.

Harry Avery's Castle doesn't really look like one but it is a rare example of a stone castle built by a Gaelic Irish chief, although its origins and history are not certain. It is associated with Henry Aimhréidh O'Neill (Harry Avery), and is definitely named after him. The front of the castle is visible as two D shaped towers. The castle is standing on a small hill in a paddock. You can go through the gate and have a look, the views of the surrounding countryside are nice.
