MAGNIFICENT!!! Up in the clouds…drove up from the south and what a trip, magnificent scenery everywhere you look. Storms were moving in across the sea and from the summit of the Llegara Pass you could see the rain pummel the ocean as it moved towards the shore.

This is for sure Albania's most scenic drive. At some points it matches the US Pacific coast hwy and Italy's Amalfi coast road.
It connects Vlore with Saranda a distance of only 140 km which will take 3 hrs just to drive it, but with stopping a whole day as you drive winding roads of 1.000+ altitude.
Places to stop:
- "Panorama Llogara" with unbelievable views of the coast beneath and take off site of paraglyders,
- Enver Hohxa big bunker
- Dhermi - best beach in Albania
- Himare, also a nice beach town.
- Ali Pasha fortress in Palermo beach bay (read that review).

Steep mountainous roads with donkeys crossing and honey sold on the road...an absolutely magical drive with spectacular views of the riviera too.

The road itself was well paved and lined, but boy it is steep in many areas! Nice little look out areas along the way.

The Llogara Pass is one of Albania’s most famous places with the road providing one of the most spectacular drives in Europe. A drive along the coastal road from Vlorë to Saranda taking in the Llogara Pass should take three hours, but allows plenty of extra time to stop and take lots of photographs. Along the curvy road from the village of Dukat to the top are also located several local vendors of honey, herbs (oregano, sage, herbal teas) and mountain tea (caj mali).
Located in the middle of the Llogara National Park, the spectacular winding road travels up to 1.027 metres above sea level and the scenery will take your breath away. From the highest point one can overlook the Ionian coast of the Albanian Riviera with the city of Dhermi. At the top of the pass there is a good range of restaurants, which are ideal places to enjoy some of the most stunning sights in Albania.

On the route along the Albanian Riviera from Himara to Avlonas, you meet the Logara Pass, a mountain passage on the slopes of the Kerani mountains, which offers a fascinating panoramic view of a significant part of the beaches of the Albanian Riviera. On the climbing path there are many points where you can stop and admire the view, but the best known is the specially designed and comfortable parking Panorama Llogara. From here you can comfortably enjoy the view and capture your dress in photos and videos. Note that during our ascent we encountered sections of dirt road, where a tunnel opens which will cross the mountain avoiding the hard climbing with its difficult turns.

We are planning a trip thru Albania for the first time and would like any advice on whether the Llogara pass is doable with a car/caravan combination?
