The most beautiful setting, the kindest of staff, great ice cream and a real sense of The English countryside. We've bought an annual pass because we loved it so much, we've recently moved to the area and rill visit regularly in anticipation of the changing seasons at this magical place

We visited the house on a Sunday. It was easy to park. We had a drink and a piece of cake before looking round the house. The cafe is large but the carpets are stained and dirty which is off putting as you walk in. The food is not cheap. The house was lovely. There are guides available to answer... More

The property os owned by the same family since 1541, and the very surprinsing thing is that thr family survived over so many centuries and is still wealthy and very capable to manage and sustain the property. The house holds million woth of paintings and artefacts. Included in the ticket pprice there is a guided tour around the house, and... More

My wife, her parents and I visited Wilton House on Tuesday. Take a water bottle because there is a drinking water fountain, to fill it up (after you pass through admissions at the start). The gardens are lovely to walk around (nice for a picnic next time!) and there is a childrens area for them to play in. The restaurant/cafe... More

Easily accessible without a car. Train to Salisbury then bus 2 to Wilton. We went on a day with guided tours- a good choice for an hour of entertainment and information that just means we have to go again on a free-flow day to take the time to discover more and, above all, to take in all the paintings. Inside,... More

We found Wilton House to be an excellent place to visit - a handsome building and grounds, with some fascinating history and exhibits. The staff were not uniformly knowledgeable but were friendly and willing. For petrolheads the car collection is a chance to see some rare and expensive beasts. The cafeteria however was pretty awful. It was somewhat akin to... More

Went here yesterday and had a guided tour of the house. What a place, so steeped in history, if you get the chance please go it is so worth it.

We looked forward for some time and we were not disappointed. We took the guided tour with a knowledgeable and lively guide and spent a very happy hour and a half being shown around this private stately home. Well worth the entrance fee. We want to go back and look at the picture again - there are so many wonderful... More

I haven't been round Wilton House for quite some time but was treating a friend and was most impressed. The Visitor Entrance and cafe/toilets are much improved. Having read the reviews we picnicked in the grounds - no problem. Sadly the famous Palladian bridge is under scaffolding (something not mentioned on the website) and abit of an eyesore, but the...
