We caught a bus from Salisbury town centre to Wilton House, took about 15 minutes. The house is set in landscaped gardens. The rooms are ornately decorated and on show are The Earl of Pembrokeshire's classic car collection. Well worth a visit. Grounds are ideal for a picnic with a river/stream running through it. There is also a children's playground.

We had a few hours here, the weather was lovely, and the children loved the playground. So much for them to do. We enjoyed a picnic under the trees and watched the children having a great time. Only saw a small part of the grounds, hope to return on our next holiday to explore more of the gardens.

We were on an organised visit by the Wyke Regis Horticultural Society, we arrived a little earlier than planned due to less traffic than expected. We were met by Roz, one of the senior support staff, and she was brilliant! Took us all off our coach and opened the main gate, which is not normally used to admit visitors, and... More

Lovely house and gardens or should I say park. Lots to see and it varies at different times of the year. Choose a sunny day if you can. You will need to allow at least four hours. This really is too good to miss.

Lots to see and do, brilliant for children and they have a huge play area with lots of different bits to it so kids won't get easily bored. Definitely perfect for a last minute day out with the family. Lots of room to sit and have a picnic as well!

A return visit after 20 odd years and it is still a really lovely spot. Try to understand the building and it could look like a bodge - but of course it is not. Gardens superb and not precious - children having a lovely time and what a playground. Do try the whispering seat - very odd indeed. I think... More

The short film at the beginning was very helpful to give the history of the house. There is a small but interesting collection of classic cars. The house itself was beautiful filled with many valuable paintings and sculptures. The extensive gardens are lovely and would be ideal for a picnic. There was an excellent kids play area. Café not very... More

We had a return visit to this wonderful attraction. As Friends of the Historic Houses Association we have free entry. Plenty of space to park, lovely walks by the lake and woodland, a popular children's play area and large lawns where families can play. The film is extremely helpful about the house and family history and was produced by the... More

A helpful film introducing the history of the house was a nice touch and in the exhibition of luxury cars was interesting . The gardens were wonderful.
