About Kaiteriteri Kayaks
Sea Kayaking Abel Tasman National Park Kaiteriteri Kayaks has been operating sea kayaking tours in the Abel Tasman National Park for nearly 20 years. With every trip we ensure that: safety is a priority; everyone has a relaxed time in an enjoyable atmosphere, and the beautiful environment is respected. Our trips are about experienced guides and good times, not hard work. For lots of laughs join a trip with the locals! Over 50 kilometres of coastline offers dozens of golden sand beaches to visit, while the many coves and lagoons provide plenty of interesting nooks and crannies to explore. Sea kayaking here also opens up a world of sea and bird life encounters with animals such as penguins, seals and dolphins. So all in all, you’ve got to say, it’s really not a bad spot!

Split Apple Classic Half Day
Both beginner and more experienced kayakers will enjoy this relaxed paddle in a sheltered area of the Tasman Bay coastline. See the famous Split Apple Rock, golden beaches, and turquoise waters off Kaiteriteri. Your guide will tell you all about the area, and make sure that you stay safe on the water. This is a family-friendly activity; travelers with kids are advised to take the morning tour, when the winds are likely to be lower.

Kayak, Seals & Cruise Full Day
This hike and paddle adventure is particularly suitable for families and small groups.

KAYAK - Guided

This tour covers the area between Kaiteriteri to the south and Split Apple Rock in the north. It is a relatively small area with lots of interesting nooks and crannies to explore. This makes it an ideal tour for the first timer. The trip starts with a safety briefing, with full instruction to make kayaking as simple as possible – even for first timers.

CRUISE - Self Guided

After viewing the New Zealand Fur Seals at Adele Island, disembark at Anchorage and enjoy the beach or do a self-guided walk and explore the 1.5 hour Pitt Head loop track to Te Pukatea Bay.

With every trip we ensure that: safety is a priority; everyone has a relaxed time in an enjoyable atmosphere, and the beautiful environment is respected. Our trips are about awesome fun guides and good times, not hard work. For lots of laughs join a trip with the locals!

Big Tonga Marine Reserve Full Day
This ultimate one day experience begins with a scenic Sea Shuttle cruise into the centre of the Tonga Island Marine Reserve where we begin our kayaking from Onetahuti Beach.

Paddling offshore, we’ll head out to Tonga Island, say ‘Gidday’ to the seals, then make our way back along the coastline, before stopping for a well deserved kiwi lunch on a spectacular beach. We’ll float into Falls River lagoon (winds/tides permitting) for some great photo opportunities, then slowly make our way down to Anchorage where our Sea Shuttle will arrive to collect us.

Whether you choose to meet us at Onetahuti, carry on walking after the tour, or simply come kayaking for the day, The Big Tonga fits into any itinerary.

We hold a marine mammal permit and can get as close as 20 metres to the Fur Seals at Tonga Island.

My wife and I had a wonderful first experience of kayaking with Kaiteriteri Kayak. The team guides Aaron and Charlie were super cool. They provided us with lot of information around the surroundings and even offered to take photos (much needed :P) Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic experience. The paddle out to Split Apple was a bit rough but it was a cruisey trip back in with the wind in our favour. Great tour provided Mitch and Charlie! And good banter in the group generally. Would highly recommend!

Plenty of parking close to the beach where your trip starts. Then, when you finish your car is close to the shops and bar as well. Have a great day.
