With just a few hours in KL I wanted to escape the hustle and bustle and visit this beautiful, serene spot that I'd seen recommended by other nature lovers. I booked a taxi to pick me up at 7am from my hotel. The walk in the forest reserve was beautiful and along a flowing stream bordered by lowland forest. I heard Gibbons calling and enjoyed the forest birds that one doesn't see in the built up environment of the city. This is a reserve worth preserving.

Over many years in Malaysia you need sometime to be close to the nature. This jungle trail is behind the old golf course of Ampang. It's trail is not to steep and guides you along old gardens via jungle trails to a nice lake. Here you can choose either to take one or two laps around the lake before you go back to your car which shall be parked near the main entrance of the golf course. For more time spendings you can hike from the lake to various hills around that place. It's all jungle. Don't forget to take a small bottle of water along.

Actually when anything is good there are few good words. There are lots of food shops. There waterfalls are hidden and great places for adventure.
This forest area is so cool. That is what true nature lovers will say. Also there are many places for eating food.If you like you can bring your own food too.Do remember to pack up and clean the place. There is an entrance fee but this is collected only at some time. There is major construction going on to improve the place. The water in the river is really middle cool meaning to say there is a chance to have a good bath. Many people come for early morning Jogs and meditation.,At this place if you come often you can reduce your weight and tension. This place is secure too.Even the monkeys have become disciplined. There is a bus service .There is a decent car park too.

This is a small recreational park in Ampang. Less than 1 km to reach the end. Only best to walking & children swimming at the river. Facilities is not well maintain & environment is getting worse becouse of construction working is on going in the park

Okay it is like this....this attraction is in the middle of the city in some way and has a lot of development going on such as an overhead bridge and there are many houses nearby. However the river is great with such pure water.Lots of people come for picnics here with costly cars.Ofcourse there are wild animals here but we can learn some tricks.
The stones in the river create creeks. There are places for climbing inside the water flow.
There are a few cascades where young people experiment jumping and then laugh a lot. There are bicycle trails too.
Once in a while there are stalls selling food.it is however better to bring your own food. There are people who create campfires and eat great food.
All in all a lovely place that is not talked about.
There is a tiny entrance fee of RM.1.00 person.....a small fee to help in the development and salaries.
Also this place has great places to take photos. too.
Some people come in wheel chairs too. There are a few places if you immerse yourself you can get physical healing.
The air is so pure here.
If you love KL this is the place you should be.
There is a slow bus but any taxi can get you here. For more precise details ask me as I can conduct a tour for anyone.
Bring a lot of clothes. There is a need to upkeep the buildings however.

This is the most easy place to reach with lower cost( free) and less effort if you follow the directions. If you see my blog cardsoftheworld.blogspot.com you will get an idea.
This park is on the mountain side so there is a river flowing. You do need your won car but you can use a taxi too. Some buses reach here half way. This place has a lot of roaming monkeys so do keep watch on your things.
On the river part you can enjoy the clear and pure water flowing. You can swim in some parts or go for wading. These is a section like a Jacuzzi where you can sit down the water will flow down giving a water massage. This treatment is very good. This will remove your body pains. There is no time limit to come here. However do have clothes to enter the water and be able to change to dry clothes.
Both girls and boys can come here. For ladies too you can come with your men or get a tour guide to help you.For details you can contact me.
Also the scenery is very natural. Then after 2 hours you will feel you have improved.
There are lots of shops nearby. However as I said if you want you can bring your car or adjust with a taxi ....

This is an excellent low cost place to visit within the KL area.I have been here heaps of times with lots of people and really waited for this adsite to be loaded.
You can get buses like Metro 28 and Ask for Bukit Belacan. There is another Buss 322 Rapid KL that goes into the reserve for the lazy bones.
There used to be an entrance fee but is now free. Also lots of people live nearby in apartments and I envy them. There is a lovely river with great chances for fishing. Most of all there are free running Monkeys.
You could bring your swimming trunks too. Also there are tiny bike paths so you can combine biking with swimming a total adventure.
There are food stalls too. However if you are choosy then bring your own food. After this place has satisfied you, you can then walk back to the Aeon Big Supermarket formerly called Carrefour for the costly and modern things that life has to offer.

Don't bother wasting your time getting here with the bus, specifically the 332 bus or take any buses there for that matter.
The 332 bus takes an immensely long time to wait for and while I was waiting I noticed it appeared frequently in the other lane(the route to K.L) but not on the route to Bukit Belacan.
So save your time, and instead hop on a taxi. It's about 5.60 which is a fair price. And remember to call it by the name locals know it as; Bukit Belacan. Asking around to get to Taman Rimba earns you looks of confusion.
Sadly while I was there I noticed that there's quite a few amounts of rubbish around, the forestry should really consider keeping this forest well maintained or have strict guidelines against littering. Due to the lack of authority there, locals are able to litter where they please.
Bukit Belacan is actually a small area of the massive Ampang forest that is constructed with pavements and roads for people roaming around. In fact, when one travels around there they become aware of the fact that the recreation park really just is the tip of the iceberg. ;)

Each part of this Forest is great. Also many people are involved in selling food items. Most of all there are great places for a long dip in the water. The river changes based on the rain fall.Actually many people come here for their own reasons. There is an entry fee of RM 1.00 per person. There is some construction going on but still the forest is open for visitors. The water from the river helps in healing process. Some people even leave fish for offering and prayers. All in all a good place in the nearby city.
