Sorry, but the nickname of the spectacular Breton Pointe de Pen-Hir is "Le Tas de Pois," or stack of peas - those rocky outcroppings that must have seemed like peas stretched out toward the wild sea. The setting - very easily accessible by road from the pretty port village of Camaret, with plenty of parking - is one of the best, at the tip of the Crozon Peninsula. The city of Brest is across the wide bay (we saw a shiny new French naval ship heading out to sea), and in the distance you can make out the island of Ouessant, France's westernmost point. There are coastal trails and a World War II museum set amongst German bunkers overlooking the strategic point. But watch out, rock climbers: we witnessed a helicopter rescue of someone who apparently got too close to the edge. Take a picnic - and stay on the trails!

This site is more fascinating than the commercial touristic Pointe Du Raz which worthy visiting as well. The beaches and rocks' formations are still natural beautiful. The additional monuments are added to this natural site as representing bloodshed events occurred even in such natural sites. Such a contrast!

Easy one of the most spectacular outcrops along the coast of Brittany. Bring some sturdy footwear if you want to get out and explore the rocks, but be ready for some fierce wind and some big drops. But an excellent location for photography - I only wish I could have returned for the sunset! My photos can be seen here: http://peak-exposure.com/adventures/2013/8/17/normandy-and-brittany

This stop is an easy one. A bit of walking but not treacherous. The views are breathtaking and the crashing waves exhilerating. You can make this a quick stop or take much more time to walk and explore.

Nice cliffs, but there are better spots on the presqu'île du crozon. Still if you have time it's a quick stop

One of those great spots on earth where the land gives way to the waves - not suddenly and definitely, but in convulsions of rocky promotories that slowly give way to the sea. A wild place to visit, very close to the pleasant town of Camaret-sur-Mer in Finisterre (End of the earth). Walk or drive out to the parking lot, then follow the path along the cliffs, see the wonders in the ocean, the actions of the waves against the cliffs, sudden changes in rocks and colors at the "foot-rocks" at the bottom of the cliffs - a place definitely to visit and to soak in its beauty.

We spent a number of hours walking up to Pen-Hir Point and taking in the stunningly beautiful coastline. The heather was in flower and the sun shone and glistened on the ocean. The museum was interesting and the stone circle worthwhile stopping and exploring. We would recommend a visit.

Walked from Manoir St Pol Roux in evening. Beautiful sunset. Interesting Atlantic Battle memorial on route. Bit tricky under foot in places and the nature of the rock means its unsafe in places too. Fantastic vertical rock formations. Not for the faint hearted with young children!
