This place takes some getting to especially by public transport but is worth the effort as you see rural Germany and the view from outside the basilica is beautiful but nothing compared to what awaits you inside. The place is baroque run riot in all its' glory to the point after a while that you actually start to find it... More

Walked the pilgerweg from Bad Staffelstein, and despite scaffolding, the outside was a lovely site to behold. The inside was beautiful, chocked full of baroque-rococo gilded roses and chubby-cheeked angel babies. But the curator followed and watched over me like I was some kind of derelict. There wasn't even enough privacy or peace to say a prayer. I think I'm... More

This beautiful and recently renovated basilica is among Bavaria's most notable baroque buildings. Truly worth visiting.

From Bad Staffelstein hike up to the Staffelberg and from there is a pleasant walk to Vierzehnheiligen. It has a brewery next to it - we are in Frankonia after all - and the inside of the basilica is spectacular. For those admiring lots of stucco, gold, fat angels and that sort of thing, its a pilgrimage destination so in... More

My cousin took us to this Basilica while we were visiting him in Bavaria. An absolutely stunning place, both inside and out, words can't really describe the stunning architecture of this Basilica. If you like visiting churches than this one should be on your list of places to visit. As well this Basilica is located in a lovely part of... More

... high barock architecture from the famous architect. Extremely rich decorated and a very impressive building with huge towers. If you are near this is a must. Go see also the brewery !

If you are staying in Bad Staffelstein then this is a must. It is very accesible by car though I took the local bus from close to Obermein Therme. The spires of the basilica are currently being renovated so a good photograph is impossible. Inside there is a magnificent example of baroque church architecture. Adjacent is a small museum but... A wonderful church in a amazing location. Unfortunately were the most impressive towers wrapped and the indise of the church was partely closed because of the weekly cleaning. Nvertheless always worth a visit

This church is extraordinary. The beauty of the baroque interior is otherworldly. Neumann outdid himself when he created the interior. Definitely a must for architecture lovers.
