We stayed in another hotel next door as this was booked. But we did the fireflies SUP night tour with them which we highly recommend. Equipment and guide have been excellent and it is much nicer to do the SUP tour than the usual restaurant boat tours.

We also tried the restaurant. Food and drinks were excellent. Staff is really nice and helpful. They even invited us to join the celebration for their 10 years anniversary.

We did the one hour paddle board today for practice because tomorrow, we are doing the paddle board to the water falls. We want to make sure, we are ready for the longer trip. Our guide Carlos was incredible. He gave us excellent tips from beginning (ascending to the paddle board) to end. And he was a great teacher! None of us fall into the water!! Thank you Carlos! I think we are ready for the three hour trip tomorrow!

If you miss the rivers on Bohol you are missing the best part of the island! I stayed at the Loboc River Resort (fantastic) and booked all 3 tours with SUP Philippines. I was also traveling solo.

1. Loboc River Tour: this is a great way to see the Loboc River (much preferred over the floating lunch/dinner/karaoke boats) Great for families or anyone, solo or a group, regardless of your experience standing on a paddle board. I went with a group that had never been on a SUP and they all got the hang of it very quickly and had a great time. I've SUPed a bit, and I also really enjoyed it. A great warm-up to their other tours!

2. Full moon paddle/firefly paddle: I went on a night that it actually was a full moon. A peaceful, lovely evening. Because of the light from the full moon, there were fewer fireflies, but the river was also lit up by the moon which was beautiful.

3. Abatan River Tour: Simply amazing! My favorite out of the three tours, but they are each very different. The Abatan River communities have community-based tourism and it's awesome that SUP Philippines offers this tour in working with local communities which puts monies into the pockets of locals from tourism. There are little wonderful surprises on this tour, which I won't mention in this review because it will take away from the specialness of this experience, but simply just book it!

After visiting the beaches in Palawan I wasn't sure that anything during the rest of my trip in the Philippines could compare as far as beauty and feeling a bit off the beaten track, but what SUP Philippines offers is quite special and it was just as beautiful. I'm so glad I stayed on the river and experienced the rivers of Bohol in this way. Can't say enough great things!

I loved SUPing and was very excited about the tours here. I did the 2pm SUP waterfall SUP tour. The 1st hour was just dodging large floating restaurant boats all with loud music and being next to a highway. It really detracted from the experience and would suggest you do the morning waterfall tour or the downstream 2pm tour instead. Additionally, when we go to the waterfall, our guide was supposed to show us where we could swim and it seemed like he had no idea, taking us through some really rough water areas to try to get to a place we ultimately didn't reach. Guide also chatted constantly, not letting you enjoy nature.

Dear C R, Thank you for your review and because of the fact that there are indeed many boats going upstream in the afternoon, we have taken your review constructively and changed our routes for the 2pm half-day tour to a Rivermouth SUP Tour. This tour is going downstream to the ocean and is actually a good way to see the full length of the river. It is equally as stunning as doing the waterfall tour. Since its in the afternoon, there is a chance that you can cross the ocean and stop at the beach nearby during sunset. We hope you can experience our tours once again and have a better one this time. Yours truly, SUP Tours Philippines' Team

I cannot recommend SUP Tours enough. Frederic, the owner, is thoroughly professional and his staff are all lovely. We had Troy as our guide for our half day Loboc River paddle board tour and we couldn't have asked for a better guide. Our party ranged from 24-60 yrs old and we all enjoyed the experience. All you need is good balance and I would say be fairly fit to spend a few hours paddling upright or sitting.

Frederic also arranged a mini tour of Bohol which included the Chocolate Hills, zip lining and seeing the tarsiers in the afternoon. Our driver/guide was Michael, another professional and informative member of staff. He pointed out things along the way like the church which was ravaged by the 2013 earthquake and we stopped to take photos wherever we spotted things of interest.

We did this on 5 January shortly after a typhoon had wreaked havoc in the area, causing major flooding, and it was sad to see the devastation in its wake. However, the resilience of the Filipinos who continue to work hard and, most of all, smile throughout any adversity could teach most Westerners a huge lesson in life.

We had a truly memorable, fun and exciting day with SUP Tours and, if you go to Bohol, I would make this a priority!

We decided to SUP to see the fireflies instead of kayaking and boy we were not disappointed. Joan and Fred were very professional and we felt confident straight away. All their equipment is top of the range and their departure venue is new and awesome. Cruising down loboc river at dusk was magical. The fireflies put on a great show too.
SUP Bohol is a must do activity when on the island. We just wish we could do another longer tour!

Did a firefly tour. Was ok but would rather do a day tour. Not that many fireflies. River is beautiful and unique so think day tour might have been more fun. Basically stand up boarding in the pitch black with a tree with fireflies at some point. It was peaceful though.

After I have experienced 3 hours paddling by Loboc River surrounded by mountains and palm trees, I can say that the whole journey to Philippines is divided by the two parts: before and after the sup tour, and here’s why :)

We came to the Paddle Center located right near the river and after having a really delicious lunch I jumped on my board and the new adventure has begun.

You really don’t need to have any special physical strength, anybody can paddle, but the body always reacts to something new. After 15 minutes of paddling my arms were aching so badly, I thought I’d just give it up. There were still 3 hours to go, 1,5 of which is to paddle against the current. But you now, when you do a lot of hard physical work or exercise, you let all the thoughts go and you only concentrate on what is happening at the moment, on every move you make. This is exactly what happened – a long, exciting, vivid, deep and picturesque meditation during 3 hours. And of course, there’s always a reward for any hard work that you do – my reward was swimming in the waterfalls. And I call it a reward, because this was the first waterfall I had seen in my life.

While paddling, I aw the sun setting in the mountains, leafs becoming bright and transparent, coconuts falling in the water, fisherman, local kids jumping in the river from the bridge, but what’s more important I was very lucky to see a river with very clear water.

On the way back we were going by the current so at some point I just lay down on my paddle and let the river carry me. I was looking up the yellow sky, wind playing with leaves and palm trees, I listened to its whispers, the birds singing and felt the power of the Loboc River. That is why, that day had changed my whole journey to Philippines and made it even better.

Me and my wife and my 8 year old son got each of us a SUP, the 6 year old son jumped between the guide's SUP and mine. 4 of us took the half day tour along the Loboc river. It was our first experience with SUP but it only took us all a few minutes to get familiar with the basic techniques. My elder son was complaining the peddle and the SUP were in adult size so he found it exhausting manoeuvring up and down the river. Troy, our guide, was very friendly and helpful, he helped to take many photos and stay behind with my son so I could go ahead exploring with my wife.
There is nothing compare with the unique experience along the wonderful river, it is not physical demanding at all so everyone can do it, I am sure.

It was our first time SUP paddling and we enjoyed it thoroughly! The river was relatively calm, (except when the cruise boats passed us by!) and very pretty and scenic. Our guide Troy was amazing and we felt very safe in his hands! He was friendly, jovial and a great to hang-out with during those 3 hours paddling on the river. Both my friend and I agree that he should teach SUP Yoga - he has a fantastic sense of balance, is patient and has a few yoga moves up his sleeve already!
