About
The Bessich winery started its history in 1959, when Antonio Bessich reaches these lands from nearby Istria and began producing wine with his son Luciano. Since 1991, the company is run by the sons of Luciano: Daniela, Alessandra, Roberto and Fabio, with the directive of his mother Giuditta, continue with dedication, the project of the grandfather Antonio and father Luciano. The Bessich winery lies in the western part of Friuli, in the land of “GRAVE” in Pordenone. These soils are typically gravelly with productions that give very intense and characteristic wines. Now the estate covers 19 hectares, all planted with vines, from which comes a unique and original production, which brings together characteristic wines DOP Friuli, IGP and intense blends signed by Bessich. From grape to bottle all our wines are followed with care and passion by our family.

If one needs to find a serious local producer of genuine wines at more than reasonable prices, this is the place to visit. My favorite wine is a Merlot 12deg., a splendid companion not to be confined to everyday meals: it could go much beyond it!

We have enjoyed their wines for several years now, my husband would bring cases home from there when we lived in Germany, now we live here and enjoy it even more. Take your family and friends here when they come to visit, they are very friendly and helpful. Their red wines are great. We recommend this winery. Call ahead for a group tour.

Last Saturday we attended an amazing wine festival at Bessich. It was packed with people from all over, we got a chance to sample 6 different wine choices for 5euro. The wine was incredible, they also had a live band and horse and carriage rides to tour the Vineyard. If you're in Italy and looking for some tasty wine they have several choices to choose from to fit everyone's taste buds. I would definitely recommend this Vineyard to everyone I know.

I've visited a few wineries in Italy, but this is one winery I always go back to. Go for tastings, and you'll meet some very friendly people who will help you find your favorite(s). They provide several gift options, too, if you're looking for a great gift idea. Each year around November, they offer Novella, which is my absolute favorite. When I visited with the staff at the fall Bazaar, I learned that a gentleman always asks for a case of Novella to be held for him. Great idea, so I asked about reserving my own. When they found out I travel back and forth every three months, they said they had no problem with holding onto my reserved bottles until I returned 3-4 months down the road. WOW! -- That's customer service! Be sure to set aside at least an hour when you visit for the first time, which gives you plenty of time to taste and visit. (FYI: The Bazaar is held on base in the Spring and Fall for those of you who are affiliated with the military.)

We were staying in area, visiting our son who is stationed in Aviano and we stopped in for a wine tasting. The wine was delicious and the owner is clearly proud of their products. We felt very welcome. We bought a few bottles to take back to our Air BnB, then, stopped by a few days later to pick up a few more bottles in order to wrap up our time in Italy.

Though not very big or well decorated, we enjoyed a long and professional conversation with the owner. We tried lots of wines and enjoyed them all, reasonably prices as well.
