Do you want a quiet walk? Or do you like to view a castle? Here you can do them both! When you arrive, the beautiful castle is just in front of you, here you can take a walk through the forest. After you have made this walk, you can quietly walk around the castle. There is also a "place" made where you can take great photos of you and the castle!

The castle is small but lovely. I hiked up here and just loved the surrounding villages and nature. I once also attended a marriage here which was a very fairy tale like marriage.

I read on Facebook that there was a historical dance class on the domain. Since I wanted to participate I joined in and had a lovely time.
I did not have the opportunity to visit the castle since it was closed for renovation. Instead I had a lovely quiet walk on the beautiful domain.
The tourist shop was nice. I bought speculaas. But it was a pity that there weren't any postcards.

Don't bother to go until the renovations are completed. After that, it should be worth the visit as it's a good looking small castle with water on three sides.

Nice bike ride and walking around this sturdy castle and the woods nearby. I am not sure the castle is open to visits, I would be interested in coming back in case of a open door's day or something like that. Nice day out.

This is one of the oldest castles in the area. It's not exactly glamorous, more like a solid fortress, designed to protect against intruders, and you can see the scars from many centuries of use. The surrounding forests have something magical about them and it's sure worth going for a walk.

The castle is somewhat derelict and many parts are closed for visitors for safety reasons. However the location is magnificent, you can spend a few hours in the shaded surroundings. The place is on a biking route, we made it a stop and had a refreshing drink on the terrace of the"Wagenhuis" in front of the castle.

I recently visited here with my husband and my twin 9 year olds. We all had a fantastic time. There's a very relaxed atmosphere. The electronic guides are great and even the children enjoyed listening along with us.
There are lots of interesting this to see and discover for all ages.
We didn't have time to try the rest uses t but it looked perfect for a civilised lunch or evening meal.
We didn't get to venture into the wider grounds but looked like there were walking trails and lots of space for bikes and dogs.
Staff member in the ticket office / shop was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble!
Well wort a visit!

The Horst Castle is a nice 17th century castle in a wooded environment. There are several arranged walking trails trough the woods en fields. The castle itself is surrounded by two ponds which you can explore and take a look at the plants, flowers and wildlife. There are also bike and horse trails you can follow from to and from here.
