Under half an hour from where we were staying (Sirignano Agriturismo - separate review), were the amazing temple & amphitheatre ruins. Actually both quite in tact and sitting apart on this beautiful location in the Sicilian hills to the East. Follow the signs for Parking...More

Interesting ruins, you get a ticket at the parking lot to take a shuttle to the temple and then another shuttle to take you to the theater. Overall, very interesting and worthwhile. There is a gift store, restrooms, and a small cafe which had decent...More

The temple sits on a hill. Speactacular views all around You have to leave your car and take their shuttle bus. Then, to get to the amphitheater, you have to walk or take another bus. We took their shuttle up and walked down which was...More

We have probably visited all the archaeological sites in Sicily. Aggregento is obviously one of the biggest. Sellinunte is also amazing but there is limited information about the sites. Segesta is a great site as the ruins are beautiful but there is also alot of...More

There are 2 main sights at the archeological park in Segesta: a never-completed Greek (Phoenician?) temple and an amphitheater. By itself, the park is good because it nestles in a somewhat remote, rather scenic valley, it is of modest size, and both structures are in...More

Wow! Such an amazing site. The shuttle bus is easy to get from the parking to the site. We took another shuttle bus up and then walked down which was an easy walk down. It was quite windy. Lovely views!

This is an excellent ancient site, well worth the (roughly) one hour drive out of Palermo. It’s laid out in a dramatic landscape, with wild flowers everywhere – a great setting. There are a few logistics to keep in mind – you have to park...More

1) not a Greek ruin. It is a replica of Greek temple. Just one of the many facts I learned on the tour. 2) amazing site, tons of history here. If you aren’t accompanied by a guide it may be slightly underwhelming, yet amazing the...More

Not to be missed- in my opinion the most atmospheric Greek temple in existence.Get there early before the crowds and soak up the grandeur and the solitude.

We enjoyed wandering the ruins after seeing the temple and Greek amphitheater. Easily accessed from the highway and shuttle bus. In the right weather, with sufficient time and stamina it would be a nice hike up to the theatre. We took the shuttle up and...More

We did Erice and Segesta in the same day, and definitely could've done Monreale as well. Monreale is gorgeous, but as long as you see the cathedral and cloisters, which could take about an hour, you would've seen the... More
