The Romanesque cathedral of Anagni, built on a Roman mithreum, is an imposing enough structure to warrant a visit, but it's the crypt that really knocks your socks off. It's unrestored, save for a cleaning to remove the candle smokeof centuries, and the scenes depicted...More

The Cathedral is the centre of the city. Build with local stones is a XIII century Dome internally not decorated. The only decorated part is the chapel to be visited. External part is a superb view.

Surely eye-catching but too colorful in my opinion. A mixture of different styles and periods: from romanic to 1930s' make - up.

This cathedral is simply magnificent. The tour is well worth the cost - the crypt, which is only lighted for 20 minutes each half hour, has incredible frescoes and an original Cosmati floor. I especially appreciated that the interpretive signs were in English as well...More

The cathedral complex at Anagni is second to none: the magnificent romanesque building, the museum and the breathtaking crypt, much of it dedicated to St Thomas a Becket.

Very beautiful cathedral, made certainly better by the presence of the crypt (tickets extra). Nice cosmatesque floor.

Beautiful church connected with the museum next door. The museum is well worth the price to see the Crypt and the wonderful archeology!

The Anagni cathedral (with cripta) was a pearl of our last trip. Because of 700 years of forgetfulness the cathedral area saved very good. May be the museum was less interesting for us, but the architecture of this place is really great.
