Wrong spelling - it's CoVachas!

Rather unusual!

The name means “little cave”. They have an alternative name “Tiendas de las sierpientes” – the snake shops.

If you look closely at each of the 10 (I think there are ten) arches, you’ll see a carving of a snake.

And they were originally shops – built in the late 15th century by the Duke of Medina Sidonia, the Lord of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, as an addition to the market.

What I found amazing is that the local market located right across the street isn’t even on Trip Advisor. Go inside the market it’s fantastic. I included some pictures to let you see how cool it was

You can tell a small town is running a bit short on sights when a single ruined wall (albeit with some architectural and aesthetic merit) is high on the tourist trail :-)

I was hoping to get a picture without a brown burlap sack paper around it was a mission to try and enter because of the parking but I was able to get some type of picture would have veen amazing if the gate wasn't around...
