Hill walk in the Esterell, stunning

Good knowledgeable guide who spoke reasonable English. The views for the whole walk took your mind of the heat. The guide was attentive and informative.

Honestly, I've never been ON one of the mountains that make up this small but beautiful range running along the coast, but I've made the drive through it every summer for the past six years. It is a view I never tire of. Year after year. The mountains are almost intimidating--especially the smaller rock formations that jetty out to the... More

Wild and peaceful - great for walking, hiking, boar spotting, cycling and climbing (I imagine!). The deep red rocks are stunning against the greenery. Lots of loose rocks around so you must wear good footwear.

I've been visiting this region for a number of years and have covered most of the trails in different seasons. Best time to visit is May/June when it's not too hot mid-day and the blue skies bring out the colours of the red rocks and wild plants clinging to the edge of the trails. The glistening sea looks very welcoming... More

There are hundreds of beautiful and rather well signposted trails in the massif with gorgeous views on the Med. It is so wild and remote that you wonder if this would not be the last dwelling refuge for the T-rex. Yet so close to beautiful towns like Cannes or St Raphael with exquisite restaurants. Don't miss the Esterel if you... More

The Esterel massif is a place in visiting for more than 10 years now. In contrast to the quite busy and touristic beach coast of this area (Cannes/ Frejus / St Raphael) it is a nice quite environment to hike and enjoy nature. The area is quite big, has paved roads so biking or hiking is a breeze - however... More
