About
The Lindt Home of Chocolate is a wonderland that’s great for both adults and kids alike. Home to the biggest Lindt Chocolate shop in the world, the complex is best explored via a guided or audio interactive chocolate tour—available in multiple languages—that showcases the Swiss cultural heritage and history of chocolate. Check out the giant chocolate fountain, attend a chocolate workshop conducted by a Lindt Master Chocolatier, and enjoy unlimited complimentary chocolate tastings. Those with a sweet tooth can visit as part of a chocolate walking tour, or as part of a full-day Zurich tour that also includes Rhine Falls. – Tripadvisor

Great experience that far exceeded expectations
We had high hopes for a nice visit and Lindt exceeded any expectation. The guest area was impeccably clean and the crowd handling was well rehearsed. Chocolate bar class was fun and informative. Company store was well stocked and the staff sought out ways to be helpful. An after tour and class lunch in the cafe was very nice and the food excellent. In short, a wonderful way to spend a half day in Zurich. Tip-take the boat from Zurich to the factory for a unique experience.

    A different experience
Took the 1 hour boat from Zurich to get to the chocolate factory which was a nice experience with great views and the options for tea, coffee and food, you do need to get there early for a good seat on the boat though. The chocolate factor it's self was a nice surprise for around £15 you get access to the factory and a tour with a speaker so you can listen to as much or little as you want. They also provide free lockers and places to refill your water bottle. The tour itself was very interesting it covered how chocolate is made as well as the techniques and methods developed to turn it into the chocolate as we know it today. At the end of the tour there are chocolate fountains and your given a spoon to have a much as you want and machines giving different flavours of dark chocolate to try again as much as you want. After this you can have one of each lindor Lindt chocolate and there are about 10 flavours available so i definitely ate more that £15 worth of chocolate. We didn't get anything from the shop or Cafe but both looked very nice. Overall we were there for about an hour and a half

    Brilliant Day Out
We had a great day out here. It was an easy walk from the train station and you could smell the chocolate from halfway there! We started our trip with lunch in the cafe. Toasties were lovely and the waffles were incredible. We bought tickets on the day and had a look round the gift shop while we waited. You could spend so much money in there, so much to choose from! The experience itself was great. Interactive and informative. The audio guides told you so much you wouldn't have known without them. It was easy to spend as little or as long as you wanted in each exhibit. The highlight has to be the chocolate tasting near the end, and the lindor freebies! Oh and don't forget the impressive giant chocolate fountain. A must visit experience if you're a chocolate fan.

    Interesting, but more importantly, YUM!
The Lindt Home of Chocolate can be reached by bus, train or lake ferry (plus a short walk) and thus, is very convenient, with Zurich public transport being very efficient. 15 Swiss Francs sees adults in (for the tour) and complimentary lockers are available for bags and backpacks, as there are some restrictions what you can take inside, on the tour. There are guided tours or audio interactive tours available, the latter of which allows you to tour at your own pace. The exhibits and the explanations are interesting, about the history of chocolate, the production process and the place chocolate holds in Swiss culture. It can be busy; there are toilets available, as well as a cafe and of course a chocolate shop and there are plenty of photo opportunities, especially with the chocolate fountain in the cavernous foyer. The reality is though, that you are there for the tasting and that is unlimited - by spoon, by hand and by handful. So easy to over indulge. A must visit.

    My Lindt Experience
I have visited the Lindt factory several times. Lindt offers tours that explain the story of how Lindt began, with an audio guide available in several languages, as well as how they produce their chocolate. The tour also includes a section that gives visitors access to an unlimited amount of chocolate. Another offering from Lindt is occasional chocolate-making workshops during holidays such as Easter and Christmas. Lindt also has a shop that can be accessed without going on the tour. Lindt's shop boasts a vast selection of chocolates, ranging from the classic Lindt truffles (chocolate balls with various fillings, depending on the flavor) to delightful gifts to bring back to your friends, family, co-workers, and more. They even have small chocolate spoons for your coffee, which you can enjoy at Lindt, as they also have a café accessible without taking the tour. Even though it is amazing, be ready to spend a little bit of money if you’re planning to get some gifts, and take the tour. Overall, Lindt provides a fantastic experience for both tourists and locals, and I highly recommend it. It is a family-friendly place and a great addition to your Swiss holiday or daily life.

Perfect Activity for a Rainy Afternoon
Wonderful experience! Everything you wanted to know about chocolate and more! We visited on a Wednesday afternoon so it was not too crowded. Online tickets were sold out, but we had no problem arranging for the tour at the ticket counter. The audio guide that came with the ticket price was a nice surprise. The various tasting stations were slightly busy with children, but we just waited and eventually had no problem tasting all the chocolate we desired. Gift shop prices were significantly less than Duty Free prices at the airport. Overall great experience.

So amazing, its a must go!
This was one of the best activities we did while in Zurich. The architecture is just amazing, very futuristic, and the whole experience is a must go, either you go with friends or as a family with kids. Not only they showcase the history of chocolate and the history of the Lindt brand, but they also have several activities such as chocolate tasting, etc. There is also an audio-guide available in several languages if you want. I will come back!

VERY touristy but worth a stop
The downside was that it really didn't feel any different than our visit to the Cailler factory in Broc several years ago. On the plus side, our friends who were with us had never been there so this didn't matter to them and their experience. I had to laugh several times as I felt I was in a Willy Wonka movie and was looking for the Oompa-Loompas to come out. Learned a lot and had some great chocolates. If you're looking for that, you'll have a great time!

    It's fun
I thought it was fun. It's only about 18€ and it's an easy self guided tour and informative. Of course you get free chocolate, so that's never bad. I don't understand the critical reviews, it's a light hearted tour of the history and making of chocolate for just a few euro. If you want the molecular breakdown, visit a laboratory. If you can't afford 18€ then stay home. I would do it again, it's a great place. Have fun, enjoy it.

A must see in Zurich and take the ferry across the stunning Lake Zurich.
Who doesn’t love a chocolate museum. The museum is fairly cheap and offers a great insight to the history of chocolate, especially in Switzerland. It is a little out of town but accessible by train from Zurich (12 mins) and a boat (20 mins) across Lake Zurich, which is highly recommended.

I came here with not so high expectations but ended up being pleasantly surprised. The museum costs 15 CHF to enter and you get an audio guide. The museum guides you through the process of how chocolate is made starting from harvesting cocoa till the factory. There is also a very interesting part that describes the history of Lindt and Switzerland in general in the mass production of chocolate. You also get to eat quite a bit of chocolate along the tour, which is definitely a bonus. As with most museums there is also a gift shop with plenty of chocolate to buy and you can even create your own custom chocolate bar. I would recommend coming here.

Good experience, learned a lot about Chocolate. Despite great weather there had been too many people in-had to queue in nearly every room. That parking costs extra in a factory museum is ridicolous-especially as outside parking is for free. 100m fuether down is a factory outlet with lower prices!

I thoroughly enjoyed the journey the Lindt Chocolate tour took me on. I spent just over three hours listening to the entire audio tour that covers elements such as how cocoa beans are cultivated in Ghana, how chocolate was discovered, the role of Switzerland in the chocolate industry and even sustainability and innovation as issues in the global chocolate industry. This tour was worth every second and I loved that I could experience it in my own time. Make a point of booking your ticket in advance online and ensure that you arrive about 10 or so minutes after your time slot starts. It was busy - but if you actually listen to the audio guide, the crowds move ahead of you. Of course the best part was all the chocolate you can taste that's included in your ticket. I highly recommend this experience.

This was the last stop on our trip to Switzerland. Our family was looking forward tot he idea of all you can eat chocolate all week. The kids were not super interested in listening the history of cocoa bean cultivation and chocolate production, but there were really nice displays with audio guides along the way. Our teenagers were more interested in rushing through the educational part to get to the tasting! Had fun with the chocolate fountains and the four varieties of chocolate that you were supposed to taste and guess the flavor. Then onto the room with the Lindor truffles. You could grab one of each (or more if you were sneaky) of about 10 different varieties. Very large gift shop and nice café. The prices at the cafe for waffles, hot chocolate, espresso, etc were very reasonable. We took Bus 165 here from the heart of Zurich. Probably spent about an hour touring and tasting, but could easily spend more if you listened to the entire audio guide.

The place is easy to reach from Zurich. Catch any train which stops at Kilchberg station. From the station, it just a 10 minute walk.

We had bought the tickets on their website a couple of days before and had downloaded the tickets on our phone for a 1.30 pm slot. We reached around half an hour early but were informed that we will be able to go in by scanning the QR code only after 1.30 pm...not a minute before that!!

The tour itself was great. The audio device (in various selectable languages) was nice. After knowing about the cocoa plantation and the progress made through the years, we came to the hall where you could taste the liquid chocolates!

In the next section, there were more chocolates to be tasted...the hard ones! And once you reach the end of the tour, there are even more chocolates to be tasted!!!

Once you finish the tour, there is a chocolate shop from where you can buy the chocolates as well. They have the full range of Lindt chocolates from loose to nice gift packs!!

Must take out a few hours for this activity if you are in Switzerland specially if you are travelling with kids. Also, make sure to book your slot online on their website to avoid last minute disappointment as sometimes the slots get full.

I really liked this museum a lot! In the beginning, in my mind it was all about tasting chocolate for free, but actually we learned a ton! I would highly recommend this experience while visiting Zurich. Kilchberg is only a 10 minute train ride away from Zurich main station and the walk along the lake from the train station to the museum is beautiful.
Try to come in early and/or avoid weekends, as it can get really busy even with good weather.

We have been to various chocolate museums in Switzerland.
The one from Lindt was the least interesting and the most expensive, which was a shame.
The “museum” is definitely only made to attract wealthy tourists.
As a Swiss who is interested in the history of chocolate, I would not recommend this museum

It's a huge chocolate museum as well as a chocolate heaven hahaha.

Here, you'll have the idea of the history of chocolate of the world from the ancient time till modern time including the swiss chocolate ofcourse.

Either, you just enjoy it your self free and easy, whilst listening to the audio guide, or you can join a guided tour.

Chocolate tasting is free and yoi can taste to your heart's content if many differenr chocolate including differwnt type of Lindors.

On the ground level, the chocolate shop is huge with wide range of options and offers. Discounts discounts discounts.

There's selfie booth with free pics. Do not forget to scan your ticket for a door proze by the end of the museum tour. Who knows you get the big box of chocolate 😉

My suggestion is spend at least 2 hours here!

The admission fee is only €15 for adults. And cheaper for youth / kids.

So worth it!
