It is a box … very different in a realistic way . Very different in thoughts , very simple in thinking . Someone referred and said … it is simple in artistic way . But you feel comfort.. very simple . Love to spend your little time . We went there in the morning…

The church has no windows at all. The walls are made with marble tiles, one column is made out of one block of marble.
Its just worth to visit when the sun is shining so you can see the structure of the marble plates.
No entrance fee and the church can be visited almost at every day time.

Located a little outside of Lucerne, in Meggen, this church is an amazing feat of architecture. From the outside, if it wasn't for the huge stylized cross, it pretty much looks like a bunker but once you step inside, on a sunny day (has to be), be prepared to be stunned. The windowless marble walls let the sun go through and the church becomes envelopped with this incredible light making you think you have stepped into a different world. And a peaceful one at that ! Just sit on a pew and take the time to reflect and enjoy one of those rare free pleasures of life.

You can visit this church if you take the 24th bus from Luzerne train station. It's a 15 minute travel until you get in Meggen.
The building seems to be industrial from outside but the surroundings are amazing with the green fields and the mountains in the background.
Once you get inside you will be amazed by the light that comes from the white marble thin walls and it's only sunlight! The mystic is something you'll only feel there.
The walls are in fact what makes this church so special but please search for the chapel before you return to the city.
This building was designed by Franz Füeg during the middle of the 60s.

This church does lot look like anything special from the outside but once inside, wow! The entire structure is made of marble and the idea is that the daylight shines through the walls. Therefor there are no windows and the experience from the inside is quite astonishing. An amazing and impressive piece of architecture.

the outside of the church may appear a little bit dull, but the secret of the building is revealed in the interior. There are no windows and the light enters through the semi transparent marble stones of the wall which produces a wonderful ambience.
