We loved diving, accommodation and people at Absolute Scuba , did not want to leave after 5 days, and will return in Mola season.
Absolute Scuba is on the edge of the harbour. Its a short walk from your room to the boat, There are a number of good "macro" dive sites less than 10 minutes boat ride away (Jepun, Jetty, Temple, Blue Lagoon). I thought these were as interesting as some dives we'd done at Lembeh. Strong current can occur at most dive sites in the area and you need a careful and experienced boat team to choose where and when to dive and I was very happy with Absolute Scuba. the service and care on the boat was superb.
The local diving was from a small boat which was well set up. It could take 5 divers but mostly it was just the two of us.
Water temperature is variable (in January) most local dives were 26-27C , on Nusa Penida Manta Point it was 30C but the SD drift dive was 23C.
We had the two balcony rooms upstairs at the front which have lovely views of the harbour and were scrupulously clean and spacious with a small shared balcony. It was quiet overnight but from dawn you can hear the activity at the ferry terminals on the other side of the harbour. We didn't mind this at all but if you are sensitive to noise ask for a room at the back of the resort.
Olivier, the manager, is very efficient and easy to deal with and its easy to make arrangements via email beforehand.
The food at the resort is decent - we were happy with breakfast & lunch there. For dinner & afternoon coffee Topi nearby is good. Also The Colonial at OK Divers is good for dinner.

I have just did three days of diving with this great dive shop. It was a repeat visit and it was another great experience.
Everything works like clockwork, the dive boats leave from just across the road and are fast and clean and comfortable. The shop won’t match divers with a diver likely to have different air consumption, which does not happen everywhere.
There is some excellent macro diving under the jetty and on nearby sites. A highlight was a three tank trip across to the Nusa islands where we had the company of majestic, beautiful and totally chilled out manta rays for almost the whole dive. My guide was Kadek for all three days, who was brilliant. As well as steering me to the very best place to see the mantas, Kadek found some amazing spots, especially rare nudibranchs and various interesting other critters.
Freshly prepared fruit for each diver, water and tea or coffee were available on the boats for the local sites, plus a very nice lunch either on the boat on the Manta trip or back on the restaurant for local dives.
Highly recommended !

The Absolute Scuba in Padang Bai is a very well equipped diving school, which also offers snorkeling options, which we were very pleased about.
The outstandingly friendly and very striving staff of the diving school should be singled out. Everyone was extremely anxious that we had a nice day and we felt very comfortable! We can only recommend it!

Clean room with a view for a reasonable price.
Excellent, professional and friendly dive guides, with boats going from right out front of the resort. Great gear room.
Efficient front office and management who made an effort to connect with guests.
Great restaurant. Pizza from the pizza oven was a highlight. They just need to add bacon at breakfast and dadar gulung to the dessert menu and it would be perfect.
I would happily stay here again.

Loved our stay here! We didn’t go diving so I can’t comment on that but the instructors are lovely. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable including adjusting the menu for my coeliac friend. Really enjoyed the free buffet breakfast each morning.
The pool isn’t just for diving practice, and is very nice with a swim up pool bar too. Prices are reasonable also.
The room was lovely and beds were comfortable. The room also had its own purified water dispenser which I’ve never had before and appreciated this very much.

Absolutely amazing. Rooms were comfortable and clean, service was excellent. The diving experience was beyond my expectations, Dive masters, boat crew and all other assistants were spot on, the help we received when getting organised to dive right thru to being returned to shore was awesome. Being gluten free wasn’t a problem to any of the staff and they made adjustments to accommodate my condition. Definitely recommend Absolute Scuba Bali.

Absolute scuba dive resort in Bali is the most excellent place for your diving adventure. The staff at the resort are friendly, helpful and really happy to see you there. The dive masters, boat crew, and everyone involved with your driving experience here at Absolute we’re just amazing. The hotel staff and the restaurant workers were always bright and cheery and happy to see you. If you’ve never been to Bali, you need to go. It has a rich culture. And I can’t say enough good things about the friendly people you owe it to yourself to get to Absolute Scuba and dive resort in Bali and enjoy your life. Padangbai.

Highly recommend this dive centre! Did my open water certification here 🤿❤️
My instructor, Marsha, made me feel so warm and safe throughout the PADI OWC. Extremely knowledgeable, patient, kind and responsible. I really felt like I could trust the people at Absolute Scuba completely, especially in my dives in the open water. Pukung (Divemaster) was a great spotter and was also very fun and responsible for everyone’s safety.
I enjoyed this so much, all thanks to Julian for coordinating this trip for us few months back. I would love to come back for more fun dives at Absolute again!! Best first experience ever. The dive site at Blue Lagoon and Jepun was beautiful ☺️
Also the bitterballen & massage is 10/10 🎉👍🏼

Great vibes at this dive resort 👍 especially loved the swim up bar and love how deep the pool is, I was able to practice some free diving. The managers and staff are all lovely and so accommodating. They went out of their way to ensure my mum had gluten free things to eat as she is coeliac. They also had great vegan options which were delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed my time here and recommend people stay!!
We were supposed to get the boat to the Gili islands but because of the bad weather at sea we had to stay in Padang Bai - I’m so glad we found this place as being stuck here turned into a great stay! We ended up extending for 4 nights.

Excellent tour operation (was recommend to us by extended family) 2 hour trip, short boat ride and lots of time in the water. well organised, two different snorkelling locations included. Colourful fish abundant and water very clear. Cleanest water environment we have seen so far in Bali, however still disappointing to see plastic items floating around in the pristine waters. Our 3x teenage kids enjoyed the experience. an eye-opener and education about the state of our oceans. Excellent trip, recommended.
