This is a garden bursting with late summer colour, surrounding an imposing Cotswold stone manor house, with stunning views over the neighbouring landscape. The design ideas and their execution are wonderful. Of particular note are the many unusual plants and the extensive use of topiary. The whole garden is very well maintained and is a breath of fresh air compared... More

Thank you for your kind review. I am very glad you enjoyed Bourton House Garden so much and appreciated the many rare and unusual plants in the garden. The Tithe Barn tea room is now supplying some light refreshments by popular demand but, as I am sure you will appreciate, there are not the facilities in our 16th century building... More

The garden does something to you which is hard to describe but easy to feel. It just gets you down, grounded and relaxed. If you ever want to explore the Cotswolds this... More

I've visited quite a few of Britain's truly great gardens, and was delighted to discover that the landscaping of Bourton House, at its peak in August, is at least as beautiful as any I've seen. Besides its vast, immaculately planned and executed grounds, with their distinctive "garden rooms" -- the lush borders lively with with bees and butterflies, the intricate... More

Thank you for your wonderful review. It's always fantastic to read of other people's pleasure at visiting Bourton House Garden. We all think it is really special but it's always good to read that others love it too! I'm not sure that the 'Bourton' eggs in Harrods are the same as the ones that Carolyn's hens lay but it is... Bourton House gardens is a quintessential English garden comprising sweeping lawns with extensive herbaceous borders set in a classical landscape. The borders are deep and full of colourful flowers, even at this time of year. Yew hedges, beautifully clipped, separate garden areas with lawns, a white border and topiary walk. Scent fills the courtyard garden and several pools provide lively... More

Thank you for posting such a lovely review of this special garden. The borders continue to be full of colour even into October (right up to first frosts) and are well worth a visit, even so late in the season. Do come again soon! More

This garden is wonderful from the moment you enter it through the barn. You can see up the bank to what delights await you. The whole garden is well planned out and planted fully with many different plant combinations and types. The white borders looked great with a wide variety of plants and shrubs and you can look over the... More

Didnt know about these gardens but they are amazing. Many unusual plants combined together with Cotswold stone buildings make this a rare place. One can tell that the designer and gardeners care about what they have created. Cafe and crafts in barn.

This garden is well planned and well planted. It is the planting and the high standard of maintenance which makes it stand out from other gardens in the area. There are many unusual plants in the borders and pots which are tender which must add to the workload. These gardens are well worth a visit. The head gardener must have... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for your kind comments. I visited mid-August and the borders were simply sensational. It is a lovely garden as each section has a different feel from the topiary garden with its undulating box hedges (unaffected by box blight - how they have managed this I don't know when just a few miles away at Hidcote the box hedges have been ruined), to the white... Splendid gardens with abundance of colour in the densely filled beds. Lots of rooms, with something new at each turn and of course lovely views from the raised pathway. Tea and cake under the shade if the tree, perfect way to spend an afternoon in the summer in the Cotswolds.
