Very interesting museum of Giacomo Leopardi in Recanati. One room is dedicated to G. Leopardi and other to local artist. His casa has his portrait and face mask. Entrance is by gratitude. Beautiful breathtaking view is from the garden outside his house. Only it is not maintained very well, spiders nets and faded walls in both rooms of this exhibition. We came before the sunset and view on Recanati and its surroundings were incredible.

the visit takes only 30 min, but worth to be there. you will see the Leopardi family library, with really thousands of well organised books. students and professional need to prior ask for attending to the books. normal visitors can only imagine the richness of this collection, which was opened by Giacomo Leopardi's father in favour of the Recanati inhabitants to promote their their cultural growth

The sensation of wandering around Giacomo Leopardi's birthplace is really great, the visit to the library is very engaging. Too bad that the guided tour is very fast and with little information it is the feeling that the groups have to leave immediately from the House this is not very nice

The expectations were very high: the beautiful building of one of the most famous Italian poets was reduced to a couple of small rooms, the library and a museum with museographic concepts of the Eighties the absolutely exaggerated cost (18 euros) compared to many other cultural institutions far more generous in terms of assets

You must visit this house of the great poet,Leopardi You can only visit it with a guide. Our guide was excellent and since we were the only English speaking guests, we were alone with the guide and she answered all or questions with intensive knowledge. It was amazing to see the great poet's library with 25,000 books. His family still lives in the house. DON'T MISS IT!

If you are a fond of Italian literature and of Italian Philosophers who have questioned themselves about the purpose of life and their sense of being in our universe, then you must absolutely stop at Recanati and visit Giacomo Lepardi's house and home town. I have been pleasantly surprised by what I gained from this experience. Recanati, houses a museum with multimedia devices that take you on a journey in Leopardi's world; his home gives you an understanding of the environment in which he grew up, how social events and mutations, Scientific discoveries, Religion and Art influenced him. I highly recommend a visit and after this going again through his portfolio.

The visit is mainly the library and some family history. As the current family live upstairs its guided tour only. And to preserve the books no tours if its humid. Worth buying the dvd giovane favoloso to see the history. Wine for sale below.

We were lucky enough to visit the house of the Poet on a quiet day. With no other visitors except ourselves, we had the undivided attention of an expert guide who answered all our questions.
It's extraordinary to be able to see such a priceless collection of books in its original context. For anyone who is a lover of Leopardi, or for those who are simply fascinated by rare manuscripts, this stop is a must.
