- SSWhipHouston, Texas32 contributionsFantastic Small Winery Focused on the GrapeWe were part of a countryside winery tour out of Budapest and this wonderful, family run winery was a first of three stops. All three were great, but the Nadas Winery was easily the best of the three. The owner and his wife curated the tasting of 8 to 10 fantastic wines and a short tour of their rustic facilities. They produce over 20 different wines and each year's production is dependent upon the weather conditions that year. We particularly enjoyed their explanation behind the decision process about which wines they make in a particular year.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 29, 2024
- Lara de BruijnCape Town, South Africa51 contributionsA lovely experienceMy husband and I visited Etyek on a Monday, unaware that most of the restaurants and shops are closed on Mondays. We strolled past Nadas and even though they were closed for the day, the lovely hospitable owner invited us to sit outside in the shade and have a glass of wine while she worked in the garden. We had a glass of their Sauvignon Blanc and Little Princess. Such a charming spot in a peaceful location with the friendliest of faces. Very memorable!Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 12, 2024
- gracie r2 contributionsWelcoming and wonderful Hungarian wine tasting ExperienceI had wonderful experience Nadas. The winemaker took time out of his early harvest to show me through a tasting. As a solo traveler I felt very welcomed. I'd highly recommend visiting Nadas to experience an interesting and diverse portfolio of Hungarian wines.Visited August 2024Traveled soloWritten August 22, 2024

Before going I googled for wine producing areas near Budapest. Etyek and Nadas Winery came up during my search. So once in Budapest I contacted the winery. Owner Szilard arranged for a private wine tasting and he even gave us exact instructions of how to reach his winery by Public transport. It was an excellent experience. We met him and his wife who gave us a brief history of their winery and explained to us the wines they produce. We were impressed by their hospitality and dedication they put in their small winery. We tasted some very good wines during the visit. Thank you and wish you well for the future.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten October 13, 2024

We visited as part of a tour and Szilard could not have been a better host. It’s clear he has a passion for wine and it shows. He poured some of his many varietals for us and gave a great recap of the region,d the industry, and how he is part of a growing industry of smaller winemakers. He was extremely generous in answering our questions and teaching us about Hungary and the transition to a democratic country. We were able to see his cellar and production area as well as his new tasting room. This is not the Napa highway 29 wine train. This is small, personal tasting, with someone who is passionate about the wine he produces.

Unique cellar, excellent wines, friendly host and all this presented in a cozy atmosphere. We arrived here with friends to experience the wine region of Etyek. Szilárd presented his wines in a way we could understand everything. Mind-blowing experience. Amazing how many types they have and all of them are really high quality, premium wines. Thank you, Nádas Borműhely. We highly recommend visiting this unique place.

We only found this winery because we had a guided tour for just the two of us. They bottle only 10,000 bottles a year in their basement! We had two white wine tastings and two red wine tastings. We sat at a small table in the front of the winery with a presentation of four different types of bread! Our host did an excellent job of discussing with us the types of grapes used. We also bought two paintings using wine upon a wine filter! We were traveling so we had no run to buy wine. All four tastings were delightful! This is a must see!

We visited this lovely winery in May 2023. We were welcomed warmly and treated to a personalized wine tasting experience. Within a few short moments we felt like family. The wines are delicious - we purchased a few to take home. We asked about the artwork around the room and learned that the owner paints these watercolors from wine! Bought some of those too. Thank you also to Peter and City & Wine tours for the great experience.

The winery itself is quite a historic building which as been restored, creating a great ambiance for the tasting. The winemaker does the tastings himself. He is informative and very personable. His English is also excellent. The winery is small and the winemaker really likes to experiment with different grape varieties and production techniques, so you will get to taste a very varied array of wines, including some mainstream varieties and some local Hungarian varieties.
The pours are generous and the wines are great. After the tasting, you will be able to visit the cellar under the building. All in all, a very enjoyable morning. Highly recommended, and so close to Budapest!

This guy operating the winery is really nice. I don't often write reviews but I have to share that those who like quality wines will be disappointed. I am not really glad sharing this but I paid for 4 bottles of wine 80eur. If it would be really nice wine I would not share this. This wine is really unfinished and kind of amateur wine quality. My opinion I am able to get much better wine even from Lidl for fraction
price of what I got those bottles sold for. I recommend this place for having nice experience and you will get it. At the end the wine quality is poor and more than significantly over-priced.

We were in Budapest for few days, we wanted to see everything, jumping from one touristic point to another. But when we visited this winery, the time has stopped ticking. Beatiful expierience, truly delicious wine, chitchats with owner (what you said, was true, she started to like dry wines, Thank you! :)), friendly atmosphere. We couldnt believe how did the building and surroundings looked like before you entered and got it in your hands! Thank you very much for great time soent with you at your winery!

The four of us visited the cellar, I was a bit sceptical because Etyek is not one of my favourite wine regions. When Szilárd gave me a raw brut, I said he had set the bar very high, and I was curious to see how he could raise it. He did it! Szilárd is a very nice, friendly host and his wines are simply fantastic. All natural and very clean tasting. I can only recommend him to everyone, we will definitely be back again.
