The guided tour is well organised and structured, presented with great humor and enthusiasm. Worth visiting. Even on rainy day. Temperatue is around 11 celsius all year around.

Nice enough cave if you're into such things.
If you're not then it's just another hole in the ground.

We decided to give it 2 stars only because there was not an English speaking guide. The cave was beautiful and interesting. However, if you don't know much about caves or about this particular one, you will definitely feel completely lost. Although the guide only spoke Hungarian, he seemed to be very nice and enthusiastic. We enjoyed seeing the cave but feel that the experience would have been much more enriching if we had an English speaking guide or English subtitles or audio.

Tours of the caves start on the hour. Every hour. Cost about £10 for 2 adults and 2 kids. Tour lasts about 30 minutes. But only in hungarian. Don't let that put you off. Definitely better if you have someone to interpret. But the cave is one of only 6 similar in the world. The roots of trees can be seen turned into stalagmites. Enjoyable visit we went in November so not crowded peak season probably have to book well in advance

We have seen several caves around the world, and were told that this one was special. To our astonishment, people even took their approx 9 months old baby in. Once in, one is led into a very tiny hall, and then shown around very quickly. Within half an hour, we were outside again, rather disappointed. The structures within the cave were special indeed to see, but with a guide that only speaks Hungarian, it dampens the experience. To us, this felt like a tour in the cellar of our grandmother. If you want to see a real great cave, drive up to Aggtelek and see one of the the Baradla caves instead of this one.

An other must see attraction if you are visiting Lillafüred.
There is a guided tour in every hour. (10.30, than 11.30 etc)
A small jacket is recommended because of the cool temperature inside.
Walking comfortable shoes or hiking shoes in advantage.
Memorable guided tour for children and adults :)

The cave is just under Hotel Palota and is a unique cave as it has been explained by the guide. It is also an excellent program on a rainy day.
