Drove from Helmsdale all the way to Thurso via Forsinard RSPB site. Scenery between Helmsdale and Forsinard is spectacular.

Renowned for fishing due to it's fresh marine life and other activities such as Gold panning where locals still find golden nuggets that fetch a few pounds.

A famous and lovely river. You can walk the banks and visit the harbour and learn much from the museum and the picture boards

We walked a good few Km's with the dog along the river. It is slippy in places but well worth it for the tranquility and views. I believe fishing is possible but neither of us fish.

We followed it up to Flow country. History all the way from breakwater to peat bog; and of course the fishing is renowned should you have requisite permits.

Just a great place to visit. A good stop en route to the very top of Scotland. Good toilets as well. Would always stop and enjoy.

This is a great place for a nice leisurely stroll. Surrounded by incredible countryside it's situated in a very picturesque setting. We were panning gold and it was a nice day out for the whole family.

Very picturesque river where you can walk for miles or just sit and watch the world go by. If your lucky and at the right time of year you may even be lucky enough to witness Salmon swimming to their breeding grounds further up stream.
