This is a wonderful boating lake in a traditional setting. There are various stop off points by the water, such as Smuggler's Cave etc. It is a very enjoyable activity for all the family and hour long rentals are a very reasonable price.

Came here yesterday for a walk around Thorpeness. Massive lake with boats for hire. Plenty of parking. Nice outlook but can get crowded in the Summer months

We visited this town several times and walked around the Meare. There are several places to get lunch/tea. The village is great to walk around. We went on a cold day in Feb but this must be so lovely in the summer.

Get a boat and explore the Meare with its islands waterways. A great way to spend a couple of hours. The boathouse on the Meare is a beautiful wooden structure from a time gone by. Relaxing and fun.

What a lovely area to bring the family. Lovely boats for hire and quaint little islands along the river, some you can actually get off on. Ice cream available at the cafe. Also places to have a meal. You can buy bird food to feed...More

Walked to the village along the coastal path from Aldburgh. Interesting village with some odd houses as well as idyllic village lake.

Depends on dog ! But I'm sure on a lead if quiet and calm . Lots of ducks ,geese and swans though so would be a nightmare with our Cockerpoo ! They pretty much leave it to you to make the decision.
