About
The Rannoch Station Visitors Centre was opened by the famous botanist David Bellamy in 2005. On the station platform, next to the Tearoom, the Visitors Centre has attractively presented information about the fauna and flora of Rannoch Moor and how the railway line came to be built over 100 years ago. The West Highland railway, from Glasgow to Fort William, is often voted as one of the best in the world.

Snow on the ground, no worries, the platform has been cleared not only for rail passengers but for folks just visiting the station.
The displays are very good, clear about the area both attractions and dangers, and well done to the team from Stirling Uni with their core of peat et al.
The owner is kind enough to provide makings for a hot drink too, with honesty box; and a heater in the toilets.
Too early in the year for the Tearoom to be open, worry not, visit!

Really grateful that the waiting room/visitor centre was open and available during a long wait for the sleeper train. Self service tea and coffee (with honesty box) was very welcome. Really interesting info and displays to read and all together a lovely place. Thank you.

This place is a destination, but well worth the effort. If you want to see the beauty of the Scottish Moor, this is the place! A very nice tea room with a good selection of sandwiches and drinks is also available.

We drove the 18 miles to the station and found a terrific cafe that provided fabulous food at a very reasonable price.

Travelled to have a spot of breakfast and couldn't resist a piece of the fantastic home made cake as well. The cafe is spotlessly clean and surprisingly busy seeing as it's a no through road. The staff were really friendly and although busy made sure we were well looked after.

Thank you very much for your review Angela. You've actually placed it for the Visitors Centre rather than the tearoom so if you could delete/re-add that would be great. Hope to see you again. Bill & Jenny

The visitor centre provided an inspiring history of the Moor - (going back 7000 years) real care and attention - it was out of season so not everything was open - but i'd like to return when it was

We had some cake and coffee here, food a bit on the pricey side
appears to be well run by a couple, who stay in a house near by
food seems to be mostly home made
