We walked the whole of the Greenway across 2 days as we were staying in Lenno, about a third of the way along it from Colonno. The signposting is not always great - we got lost (or rather, didn't spot the signs) near Sala Comancina. The stretch between Lenno and Tremezzo is recommended

We wanted to go from Tremezzo to Lenno and did not have a bus ticket so decided to walk. After a short distance on the horrendously busy road we opted for the Greenway. This is stated to be a gentle walk-they lie. It involves a very steep walk up a hillside ,and a lot of walking diwn gullies behind peoples... More

My husband and I started the hike at Sala Comacina and ended in Tremezzina after touring Villa Carlotta. We took the ferry from Varenna which gave us a good view from the water of where we would be hiking. The trail started up a few streets behind the large church and is very well marked all along the way with... More

The Greenway is a semi-urban hiking trail along the lake from Colonno to Cadenabbia. We like to get away from the beaten path, and found a nice way to extend the hike. We took the boat to Argegno and the cable car from there to Pigra, high above the lake. It is also possible to walk up, but this adds... More

An easy to follow walk along a picturesque section of Lake Como from Sal Comacina to Tremezzo. Plenty of places to stop for a break either to refresh or to take photos. Historical sites also add to the experience. A worthwhile walk to get a really good feel of this amazing location in Northern Italy.

My wife and I walked from Lenno to Colonno along the Greenway del Lago. We stayed in Lenno, saw a sign for it and kept walking. The route is well signposted but you need to watch out for small stickers on lampposts nearer to Colonno which hint at the direction. There was definitely a few time times when we weren't... More

We used the green way twice during our trip. You pass through some great little villages during the walk. The isn't too difficult and it is really well sign posted. The roads can be dangerous especially because at many areas there isn't a footpath and so the great thing about the green way is that it bypasses the main road.

The Greenway walk is ideal for the more active, although you can divert on route to the local villages. Super views along the way and easy to follow (until the last Km approx. as you loose the greenway buttons and granite paving as a guide)

We were staying in Lenno and used the Greenway going both left and right. Some of the greenway is along the side of the main road without a footpath ,hence the need for the climbing. Once we came back to Lenno from Villa Carlotta and found that way more demanding than our previous walks in the direction of Carlotta when... More
