Harmondsworth Moor
Apr 2021
Enjoy it while you can because if the Heathrow expansion plan got the go ahead, it will be gone along with the village. I hope it never happens because these green areas serve as earth's lungs. They absorb all the pollution, regulate the temperature, are essential for the overall environment and keep noise levels in check which is already very high due to 24/7 traffic on two motorways M25, M4 and M40 bit further up.

And of course there is the main culprit Heathrow airport. As much as I love plane spotting and fascinated by aviation, I strongly think that there's absolutely no need for more concrete and noise. We need more trees, bushes, grass and vegetation to suck up all the pollution caused by Heathrow and these noisy motorways. Its such a lovely detoxing place in its raw natural form that tempering with it should be treated as a crime.

Had to leave
Oct 2020 • Couples
Couldn’t walk our dog due to way too many ‘professional’ dog walkers being in this park. Car Park had several of their vans. One man had 15 plus dogs, some running loose. Others had more than six dogs. Did not see any pick up their dogs waste, which was everywhere in quantity! Also encountered a weirdo with a catapult firing at trees?! Bit remote and unwardened for my liking. Won’t be back!

This is why I'm in favour of managed, in-country landfill sites
Sep 2019
Did you know that Harmondsworth Moor was once a landfill site. Now it is an oasis for plants and wildlife, with the most beautiful dragonflies I have ever seen. This is a paragon of how waste management should be handled, not only in the UK, but around the world. It should be designated a world heritage site for this reason alone - in my view. As you walk around, you may even notice the discreetly hidden methane vents that manage the methane from the rubbish still below ground. Landfill sites are not to be feared, far better than sending recyclable plastic abroad to be ditched in the oceans. Harmondsworth Moor gets my vote - Fantastic!

Dog walking
Mar 2019 • Solo
Suggested by a pro dog walker.
Quite a large area, varied terrain.
Rivers running through it.
Dogs loved it, and we saw virtually nobody else in the 2 hours of circular walk.
Parking is easy and free and there are 2 car parks to choose from.
Nice to find a new place to walk the dogs.
Didn't find any refreshment facilities and fortunately only the dogs needed a loo.

Recommended.

Great relaxing reserve near Heathrow
Sep 2018
The Harmondsworth Moor is near Longford and Heathrow Airport on the outskirts of London. I stayed at a hotel on Bath Road, Longford before catching my flight from Terminal 4. I walked part of the Colne Valley Trail through Harmondsworth Moor. This was such a pleasant and relaxing walk and you forget you are on the outskirts of a major capital city and international airport.
The trail is easy to follow and you weave around several lovely peaceful lakes.
A wonderful experience.

Great tracks for varied running
Jul 2018 • Friends
This is a lovely little find considering how close to the motorway it is.
Trails weave themselves all over the land with some nice short challenging up hill sections.
Very easy to put together a 5k without repeating any routes

Great park for walks, excercising and familys
Sep 2017 • Couples
An excellent park, we'll kept with lots of different paths and areas. Muddy in places in rain but what park isn't.
Great for walking my dog.
I only use the park on weekends though. It's almost impossible to use the 2 car parks Mon- Fri due to British airways staff from the nearby waterside offices parking their cars there all day making the park really hard to access during the week which is indeed a shame.

Great Place for a Run
Sep 2017 • Business
If you have to stay at a hotel near Heathrow, this is a great place to run. There are lots of trails. It was about a mile from the Holiday Inn.

Perfect place for a sunny day
May 2017 • Friends
Harmondsworth Moor is well maintained and features a vast array of wildlife and vegetation. Very dog walker friendly with bad weather footpaths and open space for dogs to run around and explore. I have had the pleasure of walking around the Moor numerous times and always seem to find a new path to take. Car parks are large but the width restriction is something to watch out for.

Well kept parkland with a variety of wildlife near the M25
Apr 2017 • Friends
Whilst working at the nearby British Airways headquarters I have had the pleasure of going on some guided walks around the park at lunch time. There is a good selection flowers, trees and birds. There are at least a couple of lakes and there are well kept footpaths
