Warm welcome and great fun
Sep 2021
I have no favourite the whole experience was delightful.

The staff are wonderful they greet you and look after you from the moment you walk in the door until you leave. An experience you are very unlikely to find in any other theatre.

A great asset to the Isle of Sheppey
Sep 2021
A great afternoon with André Rieu and his amazing orchestra.
The venue is so comfortable and well organised with social distancing carefully observed.

We started with a light lunch in the tearoom, friendly and efficient service. Drinks were ordered for the interval and delivered promptly.

I have been to several varied events and thoroughly enjoyed them. It is so much more pleasant to watch a film in this lovely environment.

I’ll be back soon.

A must-visit of the Isle of Sheppey

This is a wonderful establishment that you must visit if you are in the area. The staff are just amazing. We had a lovely cream tea (excellent scones) and really enjoyed the atmosphere.

Excellent value museuem & guided tour. Lovely welcome & history of area from owner lan as we stopped by on our bikes. So we returned after lunch for a coffee & informative guided tour from enthusiastic guide. Time to wander around on our own afterwards.

A hidden gem
Aug 2021 • Family
When we arrived we were greeted with a warm friendly member of staff who then showed us around with his vast knowledge of the socks and the island we enjoyed looking at the different rooms. They were all full of history and facts great photo opportunities throughout. We are a family with a teenager who listened and took in all the information and we then stopped for a drink and cakes again served by amazing staff. A true gem ran by volunteers.

Great time visiting
Jun 2021 • Family
A brilliant few hours spent here. So much local history on display, Royal Navy & WW 1 & 2 memorabilia and had a personal tour from Jenny. Would highly recommend at just £2.50 a visit. My 5 year old especially loved the ‘history of wiping your bum’ section Lol. It was really interesting and would fully recommend. There is also a garden stone shop around the corner which is well worth the visit and some lovely pubs too!

..... And one can get a decent cup of tea
May 2021
Sheerness 'isn't everybody's cup of tea' - numerous websites will tell you that. Nor, indeed, is the Isle of Sheppey generally. Yet I've loved both for over 60 years - ever since I was first sent to Queenborough to stay with my grandparents for a fortnight during the summer holidays, and basically turned-loose each day to wander around on my own or with local children. Anyway ..... Sheerness itself is fascinating - the history of the town goes back over 400 years, and a lot of the 'Heritage' hasn't been gathered into a Theme Park but is just sat where it always was. The same goes for Sheppey generally. Now .... I know where to look, because although I've never lived on the island I know it quite well from numerous visits over 60+ years. If, Gentle Reader, you're prepared to take my word that Sheerness is well worth a whole-day visit, and Sheppey as a whole perhaps as long as a week, but you have never been to the island before then the Best Place To Start is the Blue Town Heritage Centre. A genuine 'Local Museum' - in itself increasingly-rare nowadays - of Sheerness and Sheppey, but Blue Town isn't Royston Vasey. The staff - almost all volunteers - are friendly, welcoming and well-informed; and if they don't know the answer to a question will try to find a colleague who does. And, by the way, don't be put-off by the 'Museum' tag - there's a great deal going-on in the Music Hall by way of daytime and evening entertainment: check the Criterion Blue Town website. And, finally, one can get a decent cup of tea.

An unexpected gem of historical interest
Sep 2020 • Couples
Great variety of information and artefacts, and very well informed friendly volunteers. It deserves to be better known. There's a small team room too. And one of the few surviving music halls.

Enjoyment
Sep 2020 • Couples
Me and my partner visited the museum on Thursday 17th September, and the place very fascinating, for a small venue, there was a lot to see and learn about the history.
The staff are very friendly including the owners grandson.
