Arrived the day before the wedding we were to attend, when we looked at the bell tents, one had blown down and of the others there wasn't one that still had all it pegs in. The problem is nice new tents, and cheap bendy pegs and high winds do not work it needed some serious heavy duty pegs. Once we... More

Well worth a visit, sadly we don't visit as often as we would like, the long walk is the main problem as you get older, (Blue badge holders can drive the 1.25 mls). the rest of us have to walk, but our 4 year grandson did it. There is always a fair range of birds to see. I just love... More

Hired the barn for a family wedding and were not disappointed . A few of the guests stayed in the Shepherd huts or glamped. Facilities for the tents were a bit basic and on one night when it was very windy tents were blown about. Not much protection around the camp site if the weather is windy. That said, for a... More

I was really looking forward to my visit to this nature reserve and I wasn't disappointed. Although it is a fair walk to the hides (about 1.5 miles) there is lots to see along the way as the path is surrounded by ponds and marsh land. I saw my first Marsh Harrier and also spotted Egrets, Avocets, Lapwings, Oystercatchers, Godwit,... More

We visit Elmley regularly to watch the wildlife. May is truly magical with all the chicks around, not to mention the calves from the grazing herd. However, come any month and you'll be delighted - there's always something going on on the farm and the wildlife changes with the seasons. Drive the road across the reserve or walk to the... More

Lived up to all expectations especially for marsh harriers. A cafe would be a wonderful bonus but that of course means more visitors - a happy balance.

Great bird sanctuary with a really nice drive up to the start point. Then about a mile or so on foot to the hides where you can see Egrets,Marsh Harriers and long tailed tits among bullfrogs slowworms and Swans. Like a mini wilderness.
