Nice venue for a funeral

Particularly if you have no church connection, this is an option which works well. It is discrete and different and their oratory building works well

This is where I want to have my rest

I had been wondering why I had gone off the idea of cremation. Was it the huge waste of energy, no it was my training. As an agriculturalists it hit me. I should of course lay in a meadow and complete the Carbon and Nitrogen cycles whilst nourishing the soil.

Such a serene place

Visiting the woodlands made me re-consider the idea of cremation. Being roasted down to dust uses a huge amount of energy whilst being laid in a pasture adds a bit of fertiliser and goodness back to the soil. Plus of course, they have some suitable buildings for a "service" and a wake. Seems such a good an ecologically sound idea

A Beautiful Place To Be Laid To Rest
Dec 2018 • Solo
Idly driving through the beautiful countryside I thought I would get out of the car for a walk.

I came across Bristol Memorial Woodlands. A huge, sprawling country estate, with meadows and woodlands.

I must have walked through the ground for 15 minutes before I realised that it was, in fact, a memorial woodland and in fact, I was walking through a huge burial ground.

There were separate fields for Jewish burials, Christain burials, Muslim burials and non-religious burials.

After a little exploring, I found that you can also be buried under a tree.

Whilst this is a great place to visit for an hour or two, I have found the place where I will be laid to rest!
