First visit here was as a Bridesmaid. Loved it then. 2nd visit now NT 2003 so it was lovely to return again & be re-inspired. It has a great deal to offer. They have a special once a month dog day Sunday. So choose your weekend to suit your pouch tastes. Lots of interest, for all the family though I... More

I go, in the week, for a walk and always find it a delight. For those who like to be a bit more adventurous, take a map and look at the footpaths heading toward areas outside the park such Bowstones and Whaley Moor. The park can be accessed on foot from the railway station and bus stops on the A6... More

Fantastic NT house, superb grounds, lovely cafe with play area and the cafe's cakes are scrummy! The best bits are the views though if you wonder up one of the many paths, aim high and be rewarded.

Good for dog walking, lots to do and a big house. Lots of paths to walk and cycle and a good day out.

The Park itself is serene yet well used by healthy folk clearly doing things that they enjoy and getting sweaty doing it; I must admit that I approached the house in trepidation that it was going to be the start of the decline; but I was immediately won over by the house and its array of volunteers. The house and... More

Lyme Park is beautiful and a lovely place to walk. The parking is free for National Park members. There is a little bit of a hill to walk up from the car park to the house. I am normally not interested in visiting the manor houses but I really enjoyed walking around this one. There are volunteers in each of... More

Our favourite NT spot! Beautiful gardens with fabulous walks. House is the most family friendly we have visited. Volunteers a credit to the trust and park.

All in all a pleasant outdoor experience. BUT when it comes to the inside hospitality there is quite a long way to go for the Trust. We went this Sunday and except for the shop, all catering premises were struggling to cope. It all needs a professional grip! In the Ale Cellar: why serve a venison casserole in a small... More
