The title of my review says it all. It was a pleasant, easy walk from Malham and but once at the Foss I was a bit underwhelmed by it and couldn't get to see it close up due to the number of people there. If you're ok walking there's more spectacular places in the dales with fewer people.

Like the Cove this is about a mile and a half easy walking. Not a particularly stunning waterfall but the water has made a very odd risk formation over the years which is worth seeing and it is in a beautiful place.

The walk from Malham along the riverside to Janet's Foss is a very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours. The walk is along a well defined level path alongside a river well away from traffic, the snd of the walk at Janet's Foss is slightly rocky and requires a small amount of climbing but the end result is... We walked through the Foss at the end of our walk over Malham Cove. It is very peaceful and picturesque.

The walks in this area are absolutely amazing. We went up to the Gordale Scar, but didn't climb to the top due to the weather. The walks in and around Janet's Foss were absolutely gorgeous. Overall, not too challenging, and well worth the trip. Highly recommended.

Janet's Foss sits near the head of a lovely valley on the River Ayre that is like a magical fairyland with woodlands lining the valley and the ground covered in masses of wild garlic. The waterfall is a popular place and many seem to be immune from the cold and paddle or swim in the pool at the base of... More

We visited this off the back of Malham Cove and Gordale Scar, both of which are far more arduous to reach and offer fantastic results. Janet's Foss is more of a hidden treasure. You enter a wooded path that takes you down to the foot of a lovely waterfall, note that some steps are steep and all are natural stone,... More

Visited Janet's Foss as part of a walk around Malham - we went on a steep walk up to Weets top and then down to Janets Foss, but you can do an easier walk. Well worth it.
