The building is fantastic, the collection of artifacts form young local artists is interesting. The best thing is the '900 collection of paintings, all very good. At the moment, in the same big room you can also admire the paintings from the local church damaged by the 2012 earthquake, among them Guercino (the town is 2 km away from Cento....)…

An old warehouse, refurbished and amended by modern buildings: We entered the world of collector Giulio Bargellini - and what a world! In the midst of the holiday season, we had this 4 floor museum almost to our own. Mr. Bargellini, after having invented security lighting, used his earnings and invested it into art. Modern Italian Art. Modern African and SouthAmerican art. Do not expect the usual Picasso. His collection features some known artists, but these are not the highlights: Highlights are the many unknown artists (at least to me unknown) that carry you away to new colour schemes, new forms and sculptures. If you are tired of the hundredth installation or the thousandth imitation, you should visit this museum of originals and originalities. And I am sure you will discover your new art hero!
