No doubt, our experience was enhanced by the recent David Williamson play, Odd Man Out, but going to this local theatre is such a treat from the room outself with no bad seats, then having a drink (fairly priced for the location) with that wonderful water outlook. And its close to home! Will be checking in much more frequently and... More

Wonderful production The recent production of Akroyd's "Relatively speaking "showcases great Australian acting talent. Hilarious. Where the Sydney theatre company can be about pomp and arrogance, the Ensemble brings acting in to the suburbs with great skill. For anyone a wonderful experience.

Have been going here for years and finally got around to reviewing it. This is a superb place to watch professional theatre. The front row is actually on the stage floor so be careful sitting there during comedies as you can find yourself part of the production or dodging spit, all part of the experience. It would sit no more... More

We time our visits to Sydney based on plays being performed at Ensemble. Every performance has been top class. We suggest a drink in the bar before the show or dinner in the restaurant afterwards with a wonderful view overlooking yachts & Sydney harbour.

I first discovered the Ensemble Theatre in the 1990's with my mother. She subscribed with friends and invited me along whenever I returned to Sydney for a visit. I loved every production! Most recently, I took my son to see The Big Dry, by Mark Kilmurry. The play, featuring 3 young Aussie actors from Sydney and Newcastle, alongside one Ensemble... More

THE Ensemble Theatre showcases excellent Australian theatre. Hosting playwrights such as David Williamson, and stellar Australian casts, the Ensemble is a playground for prominent actors for the stage and screen. It also hosts the Australian Theatre for Young people and the venue sits right on the water in the beautiful Kirribilli. The performances are always such high caliber, which energizes... More

This theatre gets packed on a regular basis; but you'll need to pick the play carefully as it's not always commercial types of plays. But they have a bar and a lovely scenic view at the back. the theatre is a good size. Worth checking if you enjoy theatre. But make sure you book ahead!

My daughter shouted me here last Saturday. Packed as usual because the plays here and the quality of the performances is always excellent. We saw Tribes. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Clever and very funny. $120 for 2 tickets. Plus my daughter ordered online a cheese platter and a glass of wine each. We enjoyed that at interval. Will always return here.

I went to see the play Good People by David Lindsay-Abaire last Friday night. I read all of the reviews which advised that the play was worth going to so I paid $69 each for 2 tickets. Imagine my shock when the first half of the play included appalling fake American accents, foul language and shouting. Hardly anyone's idea of... More

Hello Angela B, We are so sorry you didn't enjoy the play GOOD PEOPLE. We had overwhelming support and accolades for the play and the cast so it is indeed surprising. I myself saw it three times and I loved it. Your experience is indeed a rare one but a useful reminder that not all plays are for all people.... More
