It's an interesting place and definitely worth to visit. We spent there more than 3 hours. In a sunny day, you can take cool photos.

While the Longfeng marshes are home to many species of birds, the Longfeng Park which adjoins the marshes is also an amazing place to visit. The entrance to the park from the main road has been almost abandoned and looks forlorn, but once you pass through the gates you are in an area that is still maintained. That is the gardens and the paths and even a shaded arbor that transports you to Greece or Roman times.
The park was once obviously very popular evidenced by the small paddle boats that are lying in a rusted heap now. Also, there are statues of wild animals such as giraffes and elephants around the entrance area.
There is not one piece of rubbish to be found lying on the ground and the walk around the marshes in which lily pads big enough to hold 1000 frogs is just a delight. Small rotundas built in traditional Chinese style take you out onto the marsh area. You can walk a path that will then take you across bridges and into almost the middle of the marshes.
There is a big building near the entrance that was obviously used for meals and drinks when the park may have had a lot of visitors.
I spent a whole afternoon there, brought my lunch and my bicycle and enjoyed a very relaxing few hours there, even a nap in the little Chinese house. It remains a puzzle as to why the place has been almost abandoned apart from the maintenance staff.
To get there just take a bus from Xincun, or even a taxi as they are very cheap and plentiful.
Across from the park there are many restaurants. The Longfeng Hospital is next door just in case you fall off the giraffe!
I visited here in mid 2014 last.

rare birdlife in a natural setting
Jul 2014 • Solo
on the edge of the city is a natural wetlands area with a 50m viewing tower to give you a great 360 degree high angle platform to study the amazing variety of birdlife that inhabit the marsh. Although there are a few in cages … the majority of species can be seen on the walks and from the tower … a special place for photographers …….

Beautiful frozen landscape.
The frozen landscape here in winter is quite photogenic, making it worth a visit.

The guide told us this is a good place for bird watching during the warmer months, but all we saw were a big bunch of scavenger birds.
