Ir was a very nice surprise! We went to the Risør Aqkvarium during winter holidays and my kids were super happy to feed the fishes and check everything in detail! It’s not too big but nice to spend some time looking around! The staff was very polite and nice, explaining everything to us.

Situated at the harbour of Risør it is one of the many smaller aquariums of Norway, showing its long history of fishing. The pace is quite good for smaller children since there are several touch tanks. On your way through aprox 100 different species you meet cod, salmon and lobster to name a few. In july and august it's open daily the rest of the year only weekends. The entrance fee is 100 NOK which even for Norway is a bit expensive

Was there on a cold winter's day when we needed an indoor activity. A little disappointed with the signage of the various aquariums, they often did not match the fish we saw in the aquarium/pool. So it was not easy to find out what kind of species we actually saw. I also wish there was a little more information about the various species. Otherwise, it was a rather small aquarium, but probably fine for children.

We didn't know what to expect, given the small size of the aquarium, but we ended up staying almost two hours. The staff was so engaged and eager to share their knowledge of the sea life. There are several large tanks where you can fish for crabs or touch a variety of fish, including sharks! To top it off, they gave us a two-hour private boat tour of the islands around Risør. It may not be glamorous like Monterey Bay or packed like the New England Aquarium, but it is completely worth the visit. The cost of the boat tour is very reasonable and well worth it!

The aquarium is small but features a great variety of local fish and other aquatic life. There is also a small tank where kids sit and do crab fishing.

This is a small aqarium which unfortunatly seems a bit worn out. Several small tanks is lacking information about what you see, and the stuffed birds seems to have seen there better days a while back. Several touch tanks that I think the children appreciated, but we didn't see the need to spent much time here. The price seems steep compared to what you get.

Many different fish and lots of information. Pictures on the walls so you could learn about the fish and everything else you saw. Suitable for all ages. Creatively crafted, pleasant staff.
