Beautiful. It's fun to watch the surfers or take lessons. Even when it's raining it's beautiful. There is parking and we got to drink from a real coconut.

We walked over to the beach after eating at a local fish taco place. It was quiet and very pretty. There weren't a lof of people there and we were able to look at seashells, walk in the water, write in the sand, and enjoy...More

What a crazy existence! Google Maps had us going to the Marriott resort every chance it could, showing the Playa right in the middle of their development. Finally sheet a few wrong turns and readjustments we made it. It was a Monday so upon pulling...More

This beach just really isn't worth the rating. In comparison with the other beach I have visited along this peninsula, it is the least attractive. There is only one restaurant (lolas) which is very nice but has a monopoly on the beach and therefore can...More

Loved surfing here and Lola's restaurant is beautiful and has super yummy food! Make sure you get there before 6pm though, because that's when it closes!

Great little village with a nice long beach. Had drinks at Lola's and ate at The Beach Box. Both very good.

The beach is about a 45 minute beach walk from the JW. Marriott and has a popular restaurant Lola's nice dandy beach which is great since the beach in front of the JW is not really safe to swim in do to all the rocks.

We went to Lola's at Playa Avellena and fell in love with this beautiful spot. We surfed, walked on the beach, played in the ocean and ate lunch, had drinks, and ate dinner at Lola's

Such an awesome place. You can really do whatever you fancy here. There is good surf, and miles of beach to spread out on and never feel crowded. A restaurant at the top next to the parking that you do not want to miss (Lola's)...More

I don't know . We were staying in Tamarindo and drove around. If you stay in Tamarindo you can walk to the beaches.

I would recommend contacting Iguana Surf they are in Tamarindo. They can rent you a board and make arrangement to get you there, they can also provide you an instructor if you wish. I would suggest staying in Tamarindo... More
