Diving with Evelin Diving Center was pure pleasure. We are open water divers and dived 5 days plus a night dive. Every dive was organized perfectly, dive instructors were helpfull, patient and open to sharing their knowleage. The gear is well maintananced. Dive spots each dive were different. We were convinced to try night dive and it was great decision!! Elephants Cave is also a must have! I totally recomend that dive center;)

We decided to go to the diving school because it was in close proximity to our hotel (Minos Mare). We were very satisfied with the organization and support. The highlight for us was the visit to the Elephant Cave. The equipment made a very good impression.

The staff was really friendly but we did not feel safe - no checks before dive, simplest equipment (air pressure only), small rib for more than 8 people with all the equipment gliding at high speed and hard hitting the waves. No intro in the pool for our friends (they did them a brief and unsafe intro in the open water with strong waves and current). One of the instructors "did not remember" her certificate number... etc. In essence - you need to be extra cautious and careful.

Hi Pawel, thank you for taking the time & leaving a review for us. We appreciate both, good & not so good comments. I believe you have "mixed feelings" because you as a confident diver had a great time diving with us in the elephant cave, at least if I consider what you told us after you were back from the diving. Your wife, on the other hand, was very scared and I guess this is why she skipped the second dive, please don't blame us if she is not a confident diver & doesn't feel good in a mild current, maybe you should reconsider if she needs to do a little bit more training & also mention this to us, or any dive center you might visit again. As for checking up equipment, please don't get me wrong, but as a certified diver it's your responsibility to check your equipment, if you remember on your Open water diver course, it's called a buddy check & it's only your responsibility to check it. We check everything needed from our side to make sure everyone has a safe dive. Also please don't confuse the situations, it was on your & your wifes dive, where we had a very mild current and not at your friends intro dive, which they did from the Kalivaki beach. It is very disappointing that you believe they had an unsafe intro in the open water with strong waves and current, since this is not reality. The reality is that we mention on our website, where your wife booked the 2 boat dives for you and the 2 Discover scuba dives for your friends, that it takes place from our very well protected bay, Kalivaki beach (at no point we mention a pool session). This bay is perfect for beginners since its protected & offers pool conditions. We never ever had a strong current at this bay since we opened the dive school in 2012. After we complete the theoretical briefing where we explain everything they need to know, we need to walk at least 50m into the sea to reach 0,5m depth, where we start the dive, then we do the skills in 1,5m depth & only then, when everybody feels confident, we start the dive to a max depth of 6m. Both of your beginners friend came out with a big smile on their face after their 45min dive. We had not a single complain from their side whilst they were here on our facilities waiting for you & your wife to come back from your fun dives. I believe if everything would have been so bad & unsafe as you describe it, they would have broken up their dive & not complete the dive for 45min. I really don't understand your comment & it's very frustrating to read this. I understand that for your wife it might have made her feel uncomfortable but please don't blame us that she is not a confident diver. We did our best from our side & we would be more than happy to help her become a better diver. As for the boat, the max capacity is for 12 people, the captain needs to reach a set speed so the boat can glide on the sea, unfortunately when you have a hobby like scuba diving, yes at some days there might be some waves. If the weather is too bad of course we cancel the diving but at this day it was still good. Not a flat see but also not as dramatic as you explain it. You mention "mixed feelings" but pointed out only negatives, please keep in mind that comments like yours can be very damaging for a business & it's important to stay real to the facts & reality. If you have a look at other divers reviews that did visit us, you will see that something is wrong with your description. However, we hope to see you back again one day, have a beautiful day & all the best from the whole Evelin dive center team. Stay healthy!

Our family of four booked the beginner dive at Kalivaki beach near Rethymno. The centre itself is easy to find and has lots of accessible parking. Dimitri took us through the theory and was very clear with explanations. He explained how to clear a mask, how to remove and replace the regulator etc. The dive itself is perfect for beginners, starting shallow and gradually going deeper (we did 7m) as confidence grows. It is gentle in nature with plenty of fish including baracuda. We also saw eels and an octopus. We practiced clearing masks and removing and replacing regulator. Dimitri was a very patient instructor, especially with my wife who was rather nervous. The dive lasted almost an hour and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The photos that were included were also excellent- great quality and colour along with a 3 minute video. We had a fantastic morning! Thank you very much.
