About
minutes from the Basque coast, welcomes you from February to November for an outing with family or friends.A Zoo in a unique setting and with many young born every year !The Zoo extends over 12 acres and allows you, in charming surroundings (cork oaks, maritime pines, eucalyptus trees….), to meander within the heart of 5 continents.Zebras, wallabies, lemurs, parrots… 200 animals from 60 species with numerous births occurring every year.Depending at which period you choose to visit, you will look for their cute little faces… in their mother’s pockets (wallabies), riding piggy back or on their mother’s tummies (lemurs)… moments of tenderness not to be missed !More recently, those of all ages can discover some Robinsons not quite like the others. On a small specially built island, brown and red haired lemurs (lemurs from Madagascar) swing along from rope courses, all under the friendly eye of a Capybara, the largest rodent in the world.A family day out to the Zoo Your children can stroke miniature goats in the mini-farm, walk side by side with wallabies in the semi-enclosed paddock….. and even be accompanied by friendly peacocks as they stroll along the alleyways. A picnic area shaded by cork oak trees and a children’s play area will complete your wonderful day to be shared with family or friends !

Birds in distress
Aug 2021 • Family
On visiting the zoo, I found myself very upset to see large birds in tiny cage-like enclosures. The birds seemed extremely sad and distressed, with some of them physically hurting themselves in trying to break free of the caging. Their distress was visible and audible.

Small but great day out
Jul 2019
It’s a small zoo but the animals look very well cared for and they have lots of space to roam around. You can get quite close to the animals, pet the goats and feed the meerkats.

If it was up to me I would have this place shut down

Firstly, to all of you that seemed to think this was a good establishment, your so wrong

I don't agree with many zoos in general, but after studying biology for the last 6 years, and working in backgrounds with wildlife, I can officially say this was the worst zoo I have seen so far, firstly creatures that are born purely to fly had absolutely no room to move around, such tiny reserves for them to live, I feel that the only word I can call them was cages, every (cage) was so small and compact, for the 4 hours I was there, I did not see one staff member attending to the animals, only 2 staff members on the entire establishment, and they were both sat in the shop drinking fizzy pop,I understand that not all staff are always seen, but there were literally no staff anywhere, the cages were full of feaces, and the terrain certainly did not match most animals needs,

the animals water bowls were red hot due to lying in the sun all day, now there was little spots of everlasting shade which is where they could have placed their water, but instead leave them lying in 40degree sun, also, animals that are actually scared of water surrounded by water, to keep them contained, and there was electric wire everywhere, (sanctuary) honestly, they all looked depressed and had just given up, please do not support places like this, outrageous to say they animals are cared for, and they offered me salted popcorn to feed the animals, firstly, salt dehydrates most living animals, as well as being in such hot weathers, also, whether or not they like it, salted popcorn has not got the sufficient vitamins or ingredients in them to provide any sort of sustainable goodness, call yourself a zoo (animal sanctuary), you should be outraged, blijdoorp zoo in rotterdam and Chester zoo in England are the only ones I can say deserve the title as an animal sanctuary, please don't waste your money here

Great Day
Jun 2019 • Family
We had a great day with our two children (3 & 6) at this zoo, We paid circa €50 for 5 of us and spend approx 5 hours there including a packed lunch.

The zoo is not huge but animals look well looked after and have suitable large enclosures. You can buy popcorn on the way in and we enjoyed feeding some of the animals on the way around...especially the lemurs but also goats, camels and deer.

Would advise to go early as many of the animals sensibly take shelter or sleep during the hottest part of the afternoon.

Au sein de notre parc de 5ha où vivent plus de 200 animaux, vous avez également une aire de pique-nique ombragée ainsi qu’une aire de jeux pour les enfants. Great for young kids
Jul 2018 • Family
Well worth spending a couple of hours with young kids. Quite a few animals all housed in plenty of space and informative.

Great little zoo
Jul 2018 • Family
Enjoyable visit with children aged 5-10. The zoo is not huge, but is expanding and has several new enclosures. The new Wolf pack is amazing with 9 pups born in April 2018.
Our children loved the zoo, enjoyed feeding many of the animals and it was quite a hands on experience.
The price was reasonable for the size and visit length.

Great day out
May 2016 • Family
What a gem. Not your run of the mill zoo. It didn't have a huge amount of the large animals that we are accustomed to seeing.
Absolutely loved the wallaby walk. They are adorable and some will even come close to you.
It started to have a quick thunderstorm whilst there and the only shelter we could find was under the trees. It didn't stop us though!
At the entrance there is seating to picnic and play area for the children. Really fabulous day out for the family.

Awful sad place to visit 😢
Jul 2016 • Family
This really was not a good zoo, you are welcomed by a car park that looks like a war zone and at this point we did rethink our choice of a day out, however we gave it the benefit and paid our 30 euros to get in, first site was an old broken down enclosure and randomly we got given popcorn to feed the animals!! All enclosures run down with very little in them to keep animals happy, tiny water pools and in the extreme heat unhappy looking creatures, my daughter was so upset she actually cried, we walked it in literally ten minutes and promptly left, it felt wrong even being there, the only consolation was that we hoped our money might help towards the animals. Don't Go!!!!

A pleasant moment away from the beach
Jul 2016 • Family
Fairly compact, but clean and well maintained. The various types of crane and parrots are fascinating, and the wallabies and lemurs seem happy ambling about with plenty of space. As ever the cheeky little goats were a big hit with our little ones and the playground is good to let off steam before getting back in the car. Worth a visit on a cloudy morning.
